Parks and Leisure Services Board
March 5, 2018
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:59 p.m. on
Monday, March 5, 2018 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Roger Sickler, Jason Reyes,
Salman Bhojani,. Members absent: Tiffany Smith and Mohib Nawab.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, Recreation Manager Frank Ocampo and Administrative Secretary Jordan Peterson.

INVOCATION
Mr. Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the February
5, 2018 regular meeting. Mr. Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as presented and
was seconded by Mr. Reyes. The vote was unanimous.
I. Board Member Reports
a. Steve Doty—Preserve and McCormick: Play area washed out due to storm.
b. John Raab—VOBC and Reflection: Erosion from creek.
c. Tiffany Smith — Heritage and South Euless: Not present.
d. Roger Sickler- West park & Wilshire: Lots of debris from storm.
e. Jason Reyes—Midway & Blessing Branch: No items to report.
f. Salman Bhojani— Bob Eden and Trailwood: No items to report.
g. Mohib Nawab — Kiddie Carr &J.A. Carr: No items to report.
h. Randy Jones—Parks at Texas Star: No items to report.
i. Special Event Report:
February 10— Daddy/Daughter dance— 110 people
March 2—Professor D Concert— 175 people

II. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for February:
a. Total man hours for March 1-31 = 545.5
• 245.00 Horticulture
• 207.00 Forestry
• 69.50 Greenhouse
• 0.00 Special Projects
• 24.00 Training
r Removed 20 dead trees from West McCormick and ground stumps.
➢ Removed one American elm and four Hackberrys at J.A. Carr Park.
i' Potted roughly 75 trees from Texas Forest Service Nursery - 25 Afghanistan Pine 25
American Plum 25 Green Ash.
➢ Dead hackberry's removed from on Bearcreek Pkwy at the amphitheater curve.
Y Park system has been checked and cleaned from storm damage.
III. Staff Report—Frank Ocampo
• Update on TV replacement project—completed.
• Exhaust fan at indoor pool.
• Summer camp at Life Center & DPSC is full.
IV. Directors Report— Ray McDonald
• Storm damage in parks/clean up.
• Budget overview for FY19
• Carr Park redevelopment project.
• Pond at Preserve at McCormick park maintenance.
V. Other New Business
No new business.
VI. Input from City Council Members and Visitors
No input or comments.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
