CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT
MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
June 24, 1997
CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District(CCPD) Board was called to order by
President Ron Shields at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 1997, in the Municipal Building
Conference Room, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless. Board members present included: City
Council Member Carl Tyson, and Citizen Members Ron Shields, Lou Baum and Barney Snitz
and staff members, Police Chief Gary McKamie and City Secretary Susan Crim. Board
Members, Mayor Mary Lib Saleh and Council Members Glenn Walker and Katie Edwards
were not present.
APPROVAL, MINUTES OF JUNE 10, 1997 MEETING
Upon motion by Council Member Carl Tyson and second by Lou Baum, the minutes of the
June 10, 1997 meeting were approved as corrected by unanimous vote.
APPROVAL, FISCAL YEAR 1997-1998 BUDGET
Chief McKamie stated that a public hearing on the budget for Fiscal Year 1997-1998 was
conducted by the Crime Control and Prevention District Board of Directors on June 10, 1997
in accordance with state statutes . After the budget is approved by the CCPD Board, it will
be presented to the City Council. The City Council will then hold a public hearing in August
and consider its approval at that time.
Lou Baum motioned to approve the Crime Control and Prevention District Budget for Fiscal
Year 1997- 1998. The motion was seconded by Council Member Carl Tyson and carried by
unanimous vote.
ADJOURN
President Shields noted that four seats on the board would expire August 31, 1997, and that
after new appointments have been made by the City Council, new officers would be elected.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
