CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT
MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
February 10, 1998
CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District(CCPD) Board was called to order
by President Ron Shields at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 1998, in the Municipal
Building Conference Room, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless. Board members present
included: Mayor Mary Lib Saleh, City Council Members Carl Tyson, Glenn Walker and
Katie Edwards, Citizen Members Ron Shields, Lou Baum and Barney Snitz. Staff
members present included Police Chief Gary McKamie, Police Captain Bob Freeman,
Director of Finance Loretta Getchell and City Secretary Susan Crim.
APPROVAL, MINUTES OF JUNE 24, 1997 MEETING
Upon motion by Mayor Mary Lib Saleh and second by Lou Baum, the minutes of the
June 24, 1997 meeting were approved by unanimous vote.
APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO FISCAL YEAR 1997-1998 BUDGET
Police Chief McKamie reported that the City Council has agreed to build a new police
department and municipal court facility on the property where the old Western Hills Inn
is located. He said money will be needed in the next few months for the demolition of
the buildings on the property and the preliminary architectural fees for the new facility.
He requested the Crime Control and Prevention District Board consider amending their
Fiscal Year 1997-1998 Budget by transferring $700,000 to the Police Facility Construction
Fund. He stated the $700,000 would be combined with monies from the Police Drug
Enforcement Fund and other City budget funds designated for the Western Hills Inn
demolition.
Upon motion by Mayor Saleh and second by Council Member Edwards the vote was
unanimous to amend the Crime Control and Prevention District Budget for Fiscal Year
1997-1998 to transfer $700,000 to the Police Facility Construction Fund.
Chief McKamie stated that by early April he would have some preliminary plans for the
project that he could show the Board Members. The next meeting was then scheduled
for Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at 3:00 p.m.
President Ron Shields noted that at the next meeting there would be an agenda item for
the election of officers of the Board.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
