HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-11-14 CCPD Minutes MINUTES OF A CALLED MEETING TEMPORARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS EULESS MUNICIPAL CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT NOVEMBER 14, 1995 CALL TO ORDER A called meeting of the Temporary Board of Directors of the Euless Municipal Crime Control and Prevention District was called to order by Chairman Carl Tyson at 4:20 p.m., on Tuesday, November 14, 1995, in the downstairs Administration Building Conference Room. Those present included Chairman Carl Tyson, Vice Chairman Charlie Miller and Board Members Bobby Baker, Tom Hart, Mary Lib Saleh and Glenn Walker. Secretary Todd Smith was absent. Also present were City Attorney Bob McFarland and City Secretary Susan Crim. APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 95-02 CCPD Board Member Tom Hart moved to approve Resolution 95-02 CCPD, canvassing returns of the November 7, 1995 election and declaring the Municipal Crime Control and Prevention District officially created. Board Member Glenn Walker seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously and Chairman Tyson declared the motion carried. Election results were as follows: The creation of the Euless Municipal Crime Control and Prevention District dedicated to crime reduction programs and the adoption of a proposed local sales and use tax at a rate of one-quarter of one percent. FOR: 1212 AGAINST: 557 TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTERS: 1800 ADJOURN Chairman Tyson adjourned the meeting at 4:23 p.m. ATTEST: APPROVED• trilf/ odd mith, Secretary Carl Tyson, Chairman
