Look for more changes coming to Euless as the city is getting its first full-service hotel,
and plans are in the works for a QuikTrip to set up shop on land that is currently home
to the First United Methodist Church.
On Tuesday, the city council approved plans for the Four Points by Sheraton to build a
five-story hotel with 100 rooms at 972 East Harwood Road in the Riverwalk
development. Mike Collins, the city’s planning and development director, said the Four
Points is the first full-service hotel with a restaurant and 24-hour room service in
Euless. “The Sheraton brand is obviously very well-recognized,” Collins said. “It should
be a very good-quality hotel for us.”
The hotel is flanked by retail and restaurants to the east and west and Bear Creek
Estates to the south. The developer, M Laxmi Hospitality LLC, worked with the city and
residents to make sure the rooms were built so that hotel guests could not see into
people’s homes, Collins said. Mayor Linda Martin praised the developer for working
with the nearby neighbors. Other hotels currently under construction in Euless include:
Aloft in Glade Parks, La Quinta Del Sol and Comfort Inn & Suites.
And big changes are coming to the North Main area between Texas 10 and Airport
Freeway where QuikTrip is planning to purchase land that is currently home of the First
United Methodist Church. The city council approved a request to change zoning on the
six acres to commercial which would allow QuikTrip and other commercial development
such as retail and restaurants.
Under the plan, the land would be divided into five lots that would include the QuikTrip
and other businesses. The church is losing part of its property because of the Midtown
Express project to widen Airport Freeway. The church, which has been east of North
Main Street for decades, got approval earlier this year to build between Lakeshore Drive,
Ash Lane and N. Industrial Boulevard, about two-and-a-half miles from its current spot.

A Portland, Oregon restaurant chain with good food and craft beer is doubling down on
DFW: Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill opened at the new Glade Parks Town Center
in Euless on December 4. This is the second location for the chain; the first opened at
Toyota Music Factory in 2017.
John Plew, president-CEO of Concept Entertainment Group Ltd., which is Thirsty Lion's
parent company, says in a release that they're thrilled to be opening their second Texas
location, and especially in Euless. "We're extremely excited to open at Glade Parks Town
Center, the response from the neighborhood and surrounding businesses has been
extremely positive," Plew says.
Glade Parks Town Center is pretty much the center of the universe: 5 miles from DFW
Airport, 10 miles from AT&T Stadium, in close range to Grapevine, Southlake, and
Colleyville. The company hopes that people will come there before or after work, high
school games, and major concerts and sports events.
The restaurant seats 191, with a 25-seat centerpiece bar with full view of the action in the
exhibition kitchen. Outside are two expansive and inviting patios, seating 169, with a fire
pit and flat screen TVs. The patio will be covered with option for heating and able to be
booked for special events.
The location will also showcase an open-air kitchen, 36 different draft beers, craft
cocktails, wine program with 25 wines by the glass—all trademarks of the Thirsty Lion
brand. The interior design features wood treatments, custom made chandeliers, and a
mixture of high and low dining tables.
Signature dishes include BBQ pork & kimchi fried rice, seared ahi salad, roasted pork
Cubano sandwich, The Gastropub burger with Gorgonzola cheese, bacon-wrapped BBQ
prawns, and Scotch eggs. The menu also features shareable appetizers, salads, brick-
oven pizzas, sandwiches, seafood, half-pound burgers, and steaks. Vegetarian and
gluten-free options are also available.
The bar features a large selection of craft beers on tap, many local to Texas. Cocktails
utilize fresh fruit purees, juices, and premium liquors. The list features modern takes on
classic cocktails as well as signature drinks such as grapefruit basil martini and blood
orange margarita. For the holidays, there's a salted caramel Moroccan coffee.
Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill is also known for sports viewing, and is equipped with a
dozen HD flat screens inside and out. Thirsty Lion specifically programs its sports
schedule every day to make sure that all sports viewing requests in the area are met.
Glade Parks Town Center is the new retail and residential center located near I-121 and
Glade Road with 800,000 square feet of retail, entertainment and dining over 194 acres.
Thirsty Lion currently has nine locations and three more planned for the next year,
including a location at Grandscape in The Colony in summer 2019.
