Calloway Cemetery. The program identifies location of graves, etc. It can also include photos of
the deceased, photos of each headstone, death certificates, etc., etc. Furthermore, the program
makes information about the deceased easily accessible for research on the internet. Mr. Payton
acknowledged Bill Golden's dedication and all the time he has put into the project including
photographing every head stone on the property. Mr. Payton also recognized Bill Byers'
contributions to the project. The program will not go live on the internet until the Board decides
it's ready for public viewing. He thanked the Historical Preservation Committee for
spearheading the census and taking the lead in the mapping of the property.

1. Helen Voss, Leah Bennett, Iris Elliott and Betty Fuller were docents during open house on May
8, 2010. Seventeen people signed in on the sign in book at the Fuller House.

house on June 12, 2010.

STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Display Sub-Committee: Mavy Wright and staff have been working on signage for Heritage
Park. Mrs. Wright and Bill Byers will proof the current signs and return them to staff to put on
weather proof displays and install them at Heritage Park.
2. Evolving History: Barbara Collier met Chris Barker for information about the project. Susan
Ellis and Mrs. Collier will begin collecting information about the commercial development of
Euless. They are also interested in tracking crime rates at different periods in Euless' history.
3. Acquisition/Donation:
• Barbara Collier gave Bill Byers photographs of several different farm implements she's
interested in donating. Mr. Byers indicated his interest in acquiring three of the items for
Heritage Park. The items are in Oklahoma.
• Betty Fuller acquired a coffee grinder from an auction of"stuff' that belonged to Iva Nail's
father. The grinder is original to the Fuller House and Mrs. Fuller has donated the item to the
Museum.
4. Historical Marker Projects:
• Weldon Cannon and Betty Fuller met with the Mayor regarding the Euless School marker
dedication and a preliminary program was developed. Mr. Cannon also met with the
Principal of South Euless Elementary school and gave him the preliminary program.
5. Photography Sub-Committee: Mrs. Fuller reported that a photograph of Mosier Valley School is
the current Library display. She gave a reminder that in the recent past the Mosier Valley marker
languished in the basement of the Tarrant County Court House until she succeeded in convincing
everyone involved to allow the marker to be reinstalled. Mrs. Fuller briefly mentioned her
friendship with Vada Johnson who was a prominent Mosier Valley descendant.
6. Photo Album Sub-Committee: Betty Fuller asked if those who docents during open house could
help put photographs into the photo albums.

OTHER REPORTS
1. Iva Nail mentioned that Pat May is very interested in the Calloway Cemetery; David Massey will
add her name to the Calloway mailing list.
2. Council Member Leon Hogg informed the Committee that Mr. McKamie said they could meet
with Mike Brown, Police Chief, regarding the previously discussed photos.
3. Billy Owens thanked the Committee for allowing him to "sit in" during the meeting.
4. Veva Lou Massey spoke with the City about possibly moving the regular meeting to the Council
Chambers as the Committee seems to be outgrowing the Pre-Council Chambers.
5. Weldon Cannon displayed a Star Telegram article about the Fort Worth Court House getting a
much needed "face lift" and he reminded everyone that Mr. Euless was the first sheriff to occupy
that very same building when it was built.
6. Faye Stinneford discussed prices and sizes for the plaque project she was asked to oversee. The
plaque will display names of donors to the Historical Preservation Committee. Various decisions
need to be made regarding guidelines, wording, etc. A three person sub-committee to include

report back to the Committee in June.

historical feel.

Mrs. Nail.
9. Bill Byers thanked Ray McDonald for having stacks of brush removed from the Calloway
Cemetery.
