APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mrs. Fuller made the following comments regarding February's minutes:

David Allen. Helen Payton and others in the Committee answered in the positive. Mrs. Fuller
will send Mr. Allen the thank you note.
2. Page 3, #4, 3rd bullet, says Mr. Stover displayed a book about the City of Dallas and
indicated the possibility of doing a similar book about Euless. Mrs. Fuller gave a reminder
that a similar proposition was brought up previously and the Committee chose not to
participate in the venture. Mr. Stover reported that after he further reviewed the project he
had already decided not to proceed with the idea.

3. Page 3, #5, 2nd bullet, Weldon Cannon used the term "new corners"to describe the Bayless'
arrival in Euless. Mr. Cannon indicated that the term is a"relative term" in the context he
used it; he only meant the Bayless' were newcomers compared to Dr. Boyd, Mr. Euless, etc.
Mrs. Fuller wanted the term "new corners" deleted from the minutes.
4. Page 4, #7, 2nd bullet, Weldon Cannon said he will follow up with South Euless Elementary
School in case they had an update on the delay in the delivery of the School marker. Mrs.
Fuller wanted it noted that no one from the local level can contact the State regarding state
markers. Marker applications, etc. are submitted to the county, when the county is satisfied
with the application, they then submit it to the State.

• Susan Ellis reported that the well can officially be called the "Bayless Well" as it was
built in the 1920s by the Bayless'. The Welch's acquired the history of the well from

• Bill Golden read a 1904 Arlington Journal article. It mentioned a visit to A.N. Cannon's
home and a country funeral where the grave was covered with flowers by the mourners.
• Weldon Cannon reminisced about a conversation he had with the late Evelyn Himes. In
1941 Arch Cannon passed away near or about the same time Mrs. Himes got married.
Mrs. Himes told of the massive amount of flowers at Arch Cannon's grave and how they
didn't have a lot of money so they went and got flowers from the grave for her wedding.
She cried when she told the story and said she always hoped that he didn't mind that they
did that. Weldon Cannon assured her that Arch Cannon would have loved it that she did
that and wouldn't have minded at all as he provided the flowers, shrubberies, etc. on such
occasions.
• Mrs. Fuller read an article about the death of Ersula Ann Fuller. It mentioned that a
school was canceled at Pantego so the children could show their respects to her.
