January 11, 2010
CALL TO ORDER
Chair, Betty Fuller, called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. The meeting was held at Euless City
Hall, 201 N Ector.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Susan Ellis, Iris Elliott, Donna Mickan, Tom Stover, Doris Brown, Mavy Wright, Weldon Cannon,
David Massey, Betty Fuller, Sue Stover, Bill Byers, Bill Golden, Robert Nail, Helen Payton, Gary
Fieldsend, Ralph Williamson, Leah Bennett, Norma Lively, David Brown, Beth Gathings, James
Gathings and Helen Voss .

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. The following corrections were made to the minutes from December's meeting:
• 120 students from South Euless Elementary visited Heritage Park
• The photograph at the library display is John Ebenezer Whitner
• Jo Pritle, who is treasurer and representing the Tarrant County Historical Committee, has
donated the cradle.
Donna Mickan made a motion to approve the minutes with corrections. Helen Lightbody
seconded the motion. Motion approved.
TREASURER'S REPORTS
Treasurer, Robert Nail, reported a balance of$6,357.13
DOCENT'S REPORT/RECRUITMENT
1. Sue Ellis reported there were no visitors on Saturday, January 9 due to the weather and the
football games playing that day.

2. Sue Stover distributed a registration sheet for the members to sign up to serve as docents for the
Heritage Park tour on Thursday, January 28 with Wilshire Elementary and also for the Open
House on Saturday, February 13.
VISITOR'S REPORT
• Gary Parker has lived in Euless since 1954. He has known Robert Nail for some years.
Robert got Gary interested in the Historical Preservation Committee during a lunch meeting
they had.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Library Display:
• Betty Fuller asked the members of the committee to save and donate storage boxes for
storing historical items in the library. The tiles will go into the displays for now. The
other items need to be stored in a safe place.
2. Calloway Cemetery:
• Bill Golden reported the GPS project is complete. Bill Golden has also added names
of the deceased on other websites and is getting a great response. There are no other
reports as of right now.
3. Donations and Acquisitions:
• Helen Voss has loaned a Seth clock. It is a St Thomas mantel clock. It is also known
as a kitchen clock. It will be displayed in the Fuller House.
• Mavey Wright will have display signs ready for Trish McDonald to type up.
• Helen Gleghorn's quilt will be displayed at the Fuller House.
4. Websites and Displays Projects:
• Gary Fieldsend reported that the photograph in the library this month is of Lloyd
Baldwin sitting next to the statue of him. This is a unique photo. Next month photo
display will be the moving of the Fuller house. No website report.
5. Evolving History:
• Tom Stover stated there are no reports as of today.
6. Local Historical Marker Project:
• Weldon Cannon made a motion to approve the application for the local historical
marker. Donna Mickan second the motion. The motion was passed. It will be
forwarded to the Euless City Council for their approval.
• There is no new report for the well at Bird's Fort.
7. Snippet:
• Bill Golden read from the Fort Worth Gazette dated May 20, 1894. Results of the
Sheriff election: Euless received 387 votes, Stark received 85 votes, and Daniel
received 47 votes. This was Elisha Euless first re election for Sheriff and he won by a
landslide.

STAFF REPORT
CHAIR1MAN'S REPORT
• Helen Gleghorn, Joe Cannon, Faye Stinneford, Don Martin, and Glen Walker could
not make the meeting today.
• Thanks to Bill Golden for updating the addresses and phone numbers.
• Thank you to the city council for their support of the historical committee.
• Today would have been Troy Fuller's 83rd birthday. We will miss Troy Fuller deeply.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
• Helen Voss reported with the help of a sub committee to promote the idea on the possible
acquisition of the Ruth Millican Center to make it part of the Heritage Park. She stated that
she talked with Gary McKamie and he was open to the idea. Some logistics need to be settled
and this could possibly take about a year or so. This will be an ongoing project.
• Gary Fieldsend reported that he has started downloading photos to the Flikr account. There
have been some visits to Flikr.com. He will continue to clean up the photos and download
them.
ADJOURNMENT
David Massey made a motion for the meeting to adjourn. Mavy Wright seconded the motion. Motion
approved.
