2019
Dear Citizens,
Long before I
ever thought
about being
Mayor, I decided
to volunteer
my time to our
wonderful city
by attending the Euless Citizens Police
and Fire Academies. By attending
these courses, I gained some hands-
on experience, learned how our Police
and Fire Departments work and met
some incredible people. Volunteering
was a rewarding experience and part
of the natural progression that led me
to run for Mayor. If you are eager for
more knowledge about our Police and
Fire Departments, I encourage you to
enroll in either the Euless Citizens
Police Academy or the Euless Citizens
Fire Academy. Classes start this month.
On another subject, I would like to
make you aware of our convenient
Book Locker that’s located on the
south side of City Hall. It’s like an
ATM that dispenses library books, CDs
and DVDs instead of cash. And, like
an ATM, it takes deposits, so you can
return all your library materials there
too. The next time you place a book
or other library item on hold, try the
Book Locker. It’s fun and convenient.

2018 Keeping Your Pond
Low Maintenance
February 7, 7 p.m.
Euless City Hall, 201 N. Ector Dr.
Ponds are a beautiful, relaxing addition to
our backyards. However, they are also a lot of
hard work. It can be challenging to keep your
pond water clear and the fish healthy. If you
would like to maintain the quality of your
pond, without the hard work, please join
us as the owner of Everything Fishy, Alice
Burkhart, gives tips and tricks on finding the
Easy Button for backyard ponds.
About the Speaker:
Alice Burkhart owns Everything Fishy, an
aquarium and pond maintenance company.
She started the company 1999 and it has
continued to grow. Alice cultivates her love for
the job and expertise by owning 13 aquariums,
4 ponds, a greenhouse stocktank and an
aquaponics farm. She also gardens extensively
and keeps chickens and honeybees.

Discover the Library’s
New Book Locker
Now you can check out or return library materials 24
hours a day, seven days a week! The Mary Lib Saleh
Euless Public Library has recently installed a Book
Locker at City Hall. This self-serve kiosk lets you pick
up or return library books, audiobooks, CDs and
DVDs.
How to use the Book Locker:
1. Call (817-685-1480) or go to www.eulesstx.gov/
library and click on the Online Catalog link to put an
item on hold. When calling you can tell the library
staff that you want to use the Book Locker. Or, if you
reserve a book online, change the Pickup Library to
“Book Locker” before you submit your request.
2. You will be notified when your item is ready for
pick up.
3. When you are at the Book Locker to retrieve your
item, click on “Borrow” and scan your library card.
4. Accept the item listed on the screen and the door
will open on the locker that contains your hold.
5. Remove your item and close the locker door.
6. Drop off any library material by placing it in the
return slot.
Using the Book Locker is fast and easy. And, since it’s
located outdoors, you can use it any time, any day of
the week. Visit the Book Locker on the south side of
City Hall at 201 North Ector Drive.

can place recycling materials in the booted
container that is located in your complex.
Recycling is single stream and does not have
to be separated. You may place all recyclable
materials in one container. In general,
recyclable items should be clean and dry.
What Can Be Recycled:
• Aluminum, steel or tin cans
• Glass bottles and containers
• Wax-coated paper containers, such as
drink boxes
• Plastic containers with these numbers
on the bottom: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7
• Corrugated cardboard boxes that are
broken down and flattened
• Lightweight containers, such as cereal
boxes, tissue boxes and other packages
should also be broken down and
flattened
• Paper products, such as catalogs,
