STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS 1. Docents and Volunteer Report/Recruitment—Mavy Wright stated there were four visitors and nine docents at the February museum open house. One of the visitors was from the First United Methodist Church in Hurst who expressed interest in bringing a group in April or May. Another visitor came from the newly development homes next to the museum. 2. Acquisition—no report 3. Facebook—no report 4. Plaque – no report 5. Display Signs—Mavy Wright is working with PACS staff Ofa Faiva-Siale. 6. Publicity/Program/Speakers—no report 7. Historical Albums—Marilyn Long stated her committee is continuing to work on organizing scrapbooks and is working with Ofa Faiva-Siale to assist in identifying all items which were returned to museum inventory from the loan to the Library. Donation documentation for some items could not be located, so the items were not replaced on display yet. Mavy Wright mentioned returning a Victorian scrapbook to the donor, Joy Baldwin, because it was not in the inventory. Ms. Wright proposed scheduling a meeting to decide on which items to accept. Andy Weinzapfel suggested placing a “Donated by” sign on future items -- Barbara Collier stated that could be done when preparing the inventory sheet. Linda Pool agreed with the previous suggestion of placing a note on photos and keeping uniformity of the frames. There was a discussion of inventory items: acquisitions, disposition, handling inquiries, and acknowledgement of donations to donor. Mr. McDonald stated there is a disposition process. Ms. Faiva-Siale stated a comment needs to be made on the acquisition form as to whether the item is on loan or a donation. Ms. Pool mentioned the procedure for the donation she made to the Denton Historical Society in that the value of the donated item is left to the good faith of the donor, but a written acknowledgement is necessary. Consistency in handling donations is required. 8. Heritage Park—no report 9. Artifact Recovery—Andy Weinzapfel stated he attended a service at St. John Missionary Baptist Church; met with some of their deacons; discussed metal detecting; and provided updates to the future of the Mosier Valley Park by the City of Fort Worth. Mr. Weinzapfel advised metal-detecting season is ending soon and expressed difficulty in detecting due to environmental constraints. 10. Historical Tree Program – no report 11. Inventory—Ms. Collier stated she was continuing to work on inventory.
