A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AN AGREEMENT WITH TxDOT FOR THE OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF EXISTING TRAFFIC SIGNALS.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless exceeded a population of 50,000 according to the
2010 Federal Census; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) requires cities
exceeding a population of 50,000 to assume operation and maintenance of TxDOT
traffic signals; and
WHEREAS, TxDOT has provided a standard agreement to assume operation
and maintenance of TxDOT traffic signals within the City of Euless; and
WHEREAS, the TxDOT agreement includes only non-freeway traffic signal
locations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The continued existence and use of the existing TxDOT traffic signals is
beneficial to the City of Euless.
SECTION 2.
The City Manager is authorized to execute the operation and maintenance
agreement on behalf of the City of Euless.
SECTION 3.
This resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage as
provided by the Euless City Charter and the laws of the State of Texas.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED at the regular meeting of the Euless City Council
on the 25th day of October 2011, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and o
abstentions.
