Parks and Leisure Services Board
February 4, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 7:02 p.m. on
Monday, February 4, 2019 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: Roger Sickler, Jason Reyes, Magen Brown, and Isha
Sharma. Members absent: John Raab, Steve Doty, and Kay Seeger.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, Recreation Manager Frank Ocampo and Administrative Secretary Jordan Peterson.
Visitors present: Dave Hopton
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
January 7, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Mr. Reyes. The vote was unanimous.
I. Board Member Reports
a. Isha Sharma — Blessing Branch & Midway: No major items to report.
b. Magen Brown —J.A. Carr & Kiddie Carr: No items to report.
c. Kay Seger— Preserve & Mcormick: Not present.
d. Jason Reyes-VOBC & Reflection: No items to report.
e. Randy Jones—S. Euless & Heritage: No major items to report.
f. Roger Sickler—Westpark & Wilshire: Foul posts need to be painted.
g. John Raab— Bob Eden &Trailwood: Not present.
h. Steve Doty— Parks at Texas Star: Not present.
i. Chairman Jones reported on the special events:
• January 12—Christmas tree recycling—500 trees mulched
• January 26—Open house at EFLC—200 people

III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for January:
a. Total man hours for January 1-31 = 1094
• 436.00 Horticulture
• 173.00 Forestry
• 82.00 Greenhouse
• 369.00 Special Projects
• 34.00 Training
Over 500 Christmas trees were chipped and mulch was given away at Christmas tree
recycle event.
Trees have been removed and trimmed at J.A. Carr Park for park renovation.
Acorns at Pauline St. greenhouse were completed and are now growing.
IV. Directors Report—Ray McDonald
• Wilshire pool update.
• Carr Park renovation project update.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked staff for their report.
V. Other New Business
No new business.
VI. Input from City Council Members and Visitors
Mr. Hopton brought up concerns at the Villages of Bear Creek dog park and requested upgrades.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
was adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
