Parks and Leisure Services Board
March 4, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:59 p.m. on
Monday, March 4, 2019 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Jason Reyes and Isha
Sharma. Members absent: Roger Sickler, Magen Brown and Kay Seeger.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, and Administrative Secretary Jordan Peterson.
Visitors present: Irma Reyes, Rob Dahlen, Joe Rawlinson
INVOCATION
Randy Jones gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
February 4, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Reyes made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Mr. Doty. The vote was unanimous.
I. Board Member Reports
a. Isha Sharma — Blessing Branch & Midway: No items to report.
b. Magen Brown —1.A. Carr & Kiddie Carr: Not present.
c. Kay Seger—Preserve & Mcormick: Not present.
d. Jason Reyes- VOBC & Reflection: No major items to report.
e. Randy Jones—S. Euless & Heritage: No items to report.
f. Roger Sickler—Westpark & Wilshire: Not present.
g. John Raab— Bob Eden &Trailwood: Graffiti on bridge.
h. Steve Doty— Parks at Texas Star: Not present.
i. Chairman Jones reported on the special events:
• February 9— Daddy/daughter dance at EFLC Senior Center—335 people
• March 151— Rock Around the Park Concert—60 ppl

III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for February:
a. Total man hours for February 1-28 = 824
• 411.00 Horticulture
• 154.00 Forestry
• 108.00 Greenhouse
• 119.00 Special Projects
• 24.00 Training
Removed several trees at J. A. Carr Park for construction.
Lifted trees along trail at Villages of Bear Creek Park.
Removed tree at Bob Eden near tennis court.
Moved two Red Buds at Euless Junior High for School District before their construction.
IV. Directors Report— Ray McDonald
• Staff announcement on Recreation Manger resignation.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked staff for their report.
V. Consider Requests Concerning Dog Park
Chairman Jones presented his personal findings to Park Board on various dog parks in the DFW
area. Chairman Jones made recommendations to the board based on those findings. A vote was
taken and the board voted unanimously to make those recommendations to city council.

Mr. Dahlen thanked Chairmen Jones for his time dedicated to his research on the dog park issues.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
