OLD BUSINESS
BOARD MEMBERS REPORT
Mr. Marland Ernest inquired whether there are any scheduled events at the
ballfield at Del Norte. Julia Wakeley said that in the past we have scheduled
it for companies. Marland said he had seen some teams practicing in the past
month. Del Norte and Van Riet both look great.
Mr. Ron Henson said that his parks, including J.A. Carr Park, look great.
Mrs. Bonnie O'Brien said that her two parks are Blessing Branch and Midway.
She said that even with the crowd from Leisure Faire '90, Midway Park looks
great.
Mr. Leon Hogg said that his parks are Bear Creek and Lakewood. They are
looking good, especially considering all of the rain.
Year-to-date volunteer hours total 406 for a savings (at $5.00 per hour) of
$2,030.00.
Marland inquired if the flooding at Bear Creek causes additional man hours.
Rick said it definitely did. The infield has been raised about 1 foot and
will eventually help problems.
Jerry Robinson said that his parks are Westpark and Wilshire. Due to the
rain, Westpark has quite a bit of washing and erosion. Wilshire looks good
but there is not much use.
Mrs. Helen Lightbody stated that her parks, McCormick and the Villages of Bear
Creek, did not have much activity due to the rain.
OTHER OLD BUSINESS
Leon asked the board to start thinking about the upcoming bond issue. We are
planning on asking for $500,000.00 for use on city parks infra-structure.
After some discussion it was decided that board members would take a survey of
their assigned parks and turn in a report of what they think the parks need
for Rick's consideration.
