COMMENTS
Mrs. Wakeley stated the Minor Girl's
Softball Regional and State tournaments were held in Euless West Park
recently. A large group from the Minor Girl's Softball Association
(Page Five, Regular Meeting, Parks & Recreation Board, August 3, 1981)
helped clean, edge, and manicure the park the week before each event,
and the tournaments were quite successful due to the cooperation between
the Staff and the Association.
Leon Hogg, Vice Chairman of Minor
GirlTs Softball Association, stated their organization is working with
a supplier of plastic cups to purchase for use at tournaments. Mr. Hogg
stated the cups are quality cups and people keep them for future use
rather than discarding them; therefore, cutting down on clean-up in the
parks after tournaments.
Mr. Hogg stated that Eddie Mullinax,
with the Minor Girl's Softball Association, made the new Score-keeper
stands installed at West Park prior to the Girl's Softball State
Tournament at quite a savings to the City.
Mr. Hogg presented a letter of
appreciation from the Euless Girl's Softball Association to the Euless
Parks and Recreation Board commending the Staff for their cooperation
in the past several weeks with special thanks to Recreation Coordinator
Julia Wakeley, Parks Coordinator Bob Phillips and Athletic Supervisor
