Parks and Recreation Board

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
The following Park Board members
met at the Simmons Recreation Center at 1:00 P. M. : Mr. Jay Theder,
Rev. Elden Traster and Mrs . Zella Stierwalt. Because of a lack
of a quorum, Mr. Theder stated the meeting would be a work session.
Along with Mr. Lindsey and Mr.
Morgan, the Board members present then toured Midway Park and
West Park.
Mr. Lindsey gave each member a
list of improvements to consider while at each site.
Upon their return to the Center,
they met briefly and discussed the priority of improvements to
be considered for Midway Park. They tentatively listed their
priorities as being the following:
1. Put in covered drainage ditch between fields #3 and #4
and install steel poles and lights on Field #3.
2. Put in covered drainage ditch between fields #1 and #2
and install steel poles and lights on field #2.
3 . Bathhouse
4. Parking across drainage ditches and asphalt parking and
drive behind field #3 and drive to park shop.
They discussed lumping these items
together in a grant proposal requiring matching funds with a
completion possibly another two and a half years off.
Before the discussion ended the
Board discussed the possibilities of adding on to the park shop
to provide for additional storage and work space.
