Parks and Recreation Board
May 31, 1976
CALL TO ORDER
The called meeting of the Parks
and Recreation Board was called to order by Chairman Jay Theder
at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Euless City Hall.
Members present were Mrs . Jolly Rawlings . Messrs . Elden Traster,
Olin Steele, and David Williams . (Absent was Mrs . Zella Stierwalt. )
Also in attendance was the Parks
and Recreatiion Director Frank Lindsey-.
INVOCATION
The invocation was given by
Rev. Elden Traster.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting
dated May 10, 1976 were approved as written.
I.
ACQUISITION AND LAND DEVELOPMENTS
A lenghthy discussion was held
about the need for and use of future park land with conclusions
left until further action by the Council or land donations can
be finalized.
II.
MASTER PLAN REVIEW
The Board reviewed the survey
of park priorities sent out in the Mayor's newsletter.

III.
LAKEWOOD TENNIS COURTS
After a lengthy discussion
concerning tennis courts in Lakewood Park, Rev. Traster moved
that the Board request that the City Council approve expenditures
of funds from capital improvements for the development of lighted .
double tennis courts at Lakewood Park and authorize Schriekle,
Rollins , and Associates , on a time basis , to draw plans , specifi-
cations, let bids and oversee construction of same.

Mr. Steele seconded the motion
and the vote was as follows :
Ayes : Mrs . Rawlings , Messrs . Elden Traster, Olin Steele, Jay
Theder, and David Williams .
Nays : None
The motion carried.
The Board members requested that
this item be placed on the next Council agenda.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
