MEETING OF MARCH 7, 2019

The Teen Court Advisory Board of the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford, Texas met at 6:00
p.m. at Bedford City Hall on the 7th day of March 2019, with the following members present:
HURST: Bien Camungol, Lorrie Dickerson
EULESS: Robin Edwards, Renu Sloan
BEDFORD: Kathleen Toms, Phoenix Sheffield, Jeannette Cook

CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Kathleen Toms called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. with a quorum of seven Board
Members present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Consider approval of the following Teen Court Advisory Board minutes:
a) February 7, 2019 Regular Meeting
Phoenix Sheffield made a motion to approve the February 7, 2019 regular meeting minutes and
Bien Camungol seconded the motion and all were in favor.

3. Discuss and possibly take action on items as they relate to 2019 annual Teen Court
Scholarship Gala.
The 2019 Teen Court Scholarship Gala will be on Thursday, April 111 2019 at Texas Star in Euless.
There were four scholarship applications that were turned in and will need the Scholarship Committee
to review. Robin Edwards, who was a member of the Scholarship Committee, spoke about the
decisions that were made by the entire Scholarship Committee. There were four Scholarship
Recipients and each were awarded with a $1,500 scholarship for a total of $6000. Chairperson Toms
reiterated that all of the scholarship applicants were good and impressive. Chairperson Toms was on
the Gala Committee and spoke about the decisions about the Gala. The plated meal will include gluten
free and vegetarian options. The plated meal will consist of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and
green beans. Cheesecake and pecan pie will alternate on the table. Teen Court Coordinator Mindy
Eichorst mentioned All for G0000000d may be able to provide No -No Bags but may have other options
available. Ms. Eichorst stressed that all of the silent auction items needed to be turned in within the
next week. The items needed to be listed on a spreadsheet so it would have a bid sheet with it. Ms.
Eichorst also asked that if anyone wanted someone specific to have an invitation, make sure any
names and addresses are given to her.
Ms. Eichorst mentioned that if all of the Advisory Board Members could arrive by 5:30 p.m. to
assist with any of the set-up of the Gala.
NEW BUSINESS
4. Discuss and possibly take action on a Teen Court Gala Committee and a date for a meeting.
The Gala Committee Meeting will be on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Downstairs
Conference Room, Bedford City Hall.
5. Discuss and possibly take action on a date for the next Teen Court Advisory Board Meeting.
The next Advisory Board Meeting will be on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Bedford City Hall.

Ms. Mindy Eichorst went over the Coordinator's Report and provided the Finance Report. Jeannette
Cook expressed concern about the amount of money that is in the scholarship fund account. Ms.
Eichorst explained that the money is used for the annual Scholarship Gala. Ms. Eichorst also
explained the monies are used for the scholarships the Teen Recipients receive. The amounts vary
from year to year depending upon how many senior teen volunteers submit an application form and
the amount of each of the scholarship can be up to $1,500,
ADJOURNMENT
Robin Edwards entered a motion for the meeting to be adjourned and Renu Sloan seconded the motion
and all voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
