HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-04-21 Regular Meeting Park and Recreation Board April 21, 1975 CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Board was called to order at 7:50 P. M. in the Conference room of the Euless City Hall by Chairman Charles Hunt. Members present were Mrs. Carolyn Griffin and Mr. Jay Theder. Mr. Copher arrived late. (Absent were Mrs. Jolly Rawlings and Mr. David Williams) . Also present were Park and Recreation Director Frank Lindsey and Recording Secretary Denise Holden. VISITORS The visitor in attendance was City Manager Mr. Sustaire. INVOCATION The invocation was given by Mr. Charles Hunt. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting dated March 17, 1975, were approved as written. I. DIRECTOR'S REPORT *See attached copy. In addition, Mr. Lindsey stated that the lights at Central field have been repaired and all other bulbs replaced. He also informed the Board that Mr. Sustaire was presenting bids on a tractor to the Council tommorrow night. A discussion on the opening of the swimming pools followed. An earlier opening date was suggested, and also suggestions for increasing the attendance in August. Mr. Theder asked about the possi- bility of water sports. In a discussion on the vandalism at the Trinity Handball courts, Mr. Sustaire recommended contact- ing the engineers about a card system. Mr. Lindsey stated he would look into the card system and also the possibility of enclosing the courts. PARK LAND ACQUISITION A lengthy discussion was held on present development of park land and plans for future (Page Three, Regular Meeting, Park & Recreation Board, April 21, 1975) acquisition of additional park land. V. 1975-76 BUDGET The proposed 1975-76 budget was passed out and asked to be reviewed before the next Park Board meeting. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. APPROVAL: Chairman
