Park and Recreation Board
August 26, 1974
CALL TO ORDER
The called meeting of the Park
and Recreation Board was called to order at 11:00 a.m. in the
Conference Room of the Euless City Hall by Chairman Charles
Hunt. Members present were Mesdms. Carolyn Griffin, Jolly
Rawlings; and Messrs. Charles Hunt, and Jay Theder. (Absent
were Councilman Harold Copher and Mr. David Williams)
Also present were Park foreman,
Larry Morgan. and Recording Secretary Denise Holden.
WEST PARK BIDS FOR IRRIGATION AND SEEDING
Mr. Morgan stated that the City
had received four bids for the seeding and irrigation of West
Park with the lowest bid being $8,320 from Turf Management
Systems, Inc. The other bids ranged from $1,000 to $1,500 more.
In the Spring of 1974, included
in the West Park bids, was an estimate for seeding, soil prepa-
ration, and installation of an irrigation system for the amount
of $30,000. (See attached copy) These items were deleted from
the contract due to excessive cost and new bids were submitted
and opened on August 26, 1974, with the low bid being $8,320.
The Park Board therefore recommends to the City Council for
their approval that the appropriate bid be awarded at the earliest
possible date.
A discussion followed on the
delays in the completion of West Park. The clause about contract •
time and liquidated damages was brought up, and the Board's
previous recommendation on this. ( see attached copies)
