Park and Recreation Board
March 18, 1974
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Park and
Recreation Board was called to order at 8:00 P. M. in the Conference Room
of the Euless City Hall by Mr. Harold Copher. Members present were
Mesdms. Carolyn Griffin and Jolly Rawlings; and Messrs. Jack Stoltze and
Charles Hunt. (Absent was Mr. Jay Theder)
Also present was Park and Recreation
Director Frank Lindsey.
VISITORS
Visitor present was Mr. Jerry Wilkinson.
PARK AND RECREATION DIRECTOR' S REPORT
Mr. Lindsey reported on the equipment
for Lakewood Park, men' s softball , soccer, vandalism, a curfew ordinance
and improvements to parks.
(Mr. Charles Hunt arrived at 8: 15 P. M. )
The Park Board is in favor of a curfew
ordinance for Euless Parks and Recreation centers because of the vandalism
problem.
Mr. Hunt moved that the Park Board
recommend a fence be installed at the South Euless Park site to alleviate
motor bikes ruining the grass; the cost not to exceed $200.00.
Mrs. Griffin seconded the motion and
the vote is as follows:
Ayes: Mr. Hunt, Mrs. Griffin, Mrs. Rawlings and Messrs. Stoltze and
Copher
Nays: None
Chairman Hunt declared the motion
carried.
EULESS GARDEN CLUB DONATES TREE
The Park and Recreation Board recommends
a thank you note be sent to the Euless Garden Club for a tree planted in
front of the Civic Center.

SIGNS RECOMMENDED FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Mr. Stoltze recommended that a permanent
sign be erected where playground equipment is installed on school property,
stating the equipment was furnished by the City of Euless.
IV.
MIDWAY PARK CONCESSION STAND
Mr. Copher suggested that Mr. Lindsey
and Mr. Hunt contact the Baseball Association to discuss the cost of the
concession stand to be built in Midway Park.
V.
TRINITY BASEBALL FIELD LIGHTS
Mrs. Griffin moved to recommend to the
City Council that the City light the new Trinity baseball field for this
years use.
Chairman Hunt seconded the motion and
the vote is as follows:
Ayes: Mrs. Griffin, Mr. Hunt, Mrs. Rawlings, Mr. Stoltze and Mr.
Copher
Nays: None
Chairman Hunt declared the motion
carried.
Chairman Hunt directed Mr. Lindsey to
request the Trinity baseball field lighting project be put on the City
Council agenda for the next meeting.
VI .
WEST PARK
Mr. Lindsey reported on the progress
at West Park. He stated that the work order will be signed on March 19,
1974.
VII .
URBAN DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR
The Park and Recreation Board discussed
sending a representative to Austin to attend a seminar on Urban Development.
The Board members were in favor of sending a representative to be appointed
by the City Council . Mr. Copher stated he will attend, if available. The

members were in agreement for Mr. Copher to attend the seminar and in case
he cannot, Chairman Hunt appoint another representative.

The meeting adjourned at 10:25 P. M.
