Parks and Leisure Services Board
May 6, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:59 p.m. on
Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman Randy
Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Roger Sickler, Magen Brown, and
Kay Seeger. Members absent: Isha Sharma and Jason Reyes.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, and Administrative Secretary Jordan Peterson.
Visitors present: None.
INVOCATION
Mr. Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
April 1, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as presented
and was seconded by Mr. Doty. The vote was unanimous.

c. Kay Seger—Preserve & Mcormick: Minor items reported to Parks Manager.

II. Beautification Award
a. Chairman Jones announced the May 2019 Residential Yard of the Month winner was Mr.
Gregory Polito at 2517 Westpark Way Circle. This property has large Chinese Pistache and nice
green plush lawn to add to the curb appeal. There are many colorful shrubs and annual
flowers such as Box woods, Azaleas, pansies and impatiens Plants. We appreciate their effort,
and their award will be delivered to them.
b. Chairman Jones announced the May 2019 Business/Civic/Governmental Beautification
award winner goes to Eclipse Surgicare at 461 West Parkway. This business has a lot of color and
many different species of plants to offer. Plants including Guard Yucca, Fire Ball Nandina,
knockout roses, blue point juniper, Yaupon Hollies and large trees throughout the property to
add as a focal point. We appreciate their effort, and their award will be delivered to them.
III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Vice Chairman Roger Sickler reported the following for April:
a. Total man hours for April 1-30 = 844
• 400.00 Horticulture
• 152.00 Forestry
• 96.00 Greenhouse
• 196.00 Special Projects
• 0.00 Training
y Over 1000 trees were given away at Arbor Daze.
Over 100 man hours in storm clean up in several parks.
Trimmed trees for new reclaimed water line in the medians of Mid-Cities Blvd.
Stump grinded at J.A. Carr Park for renovations.
Trimmed trees at The Preserve at McCormick Park.
IV. Directors Report— Ray McDonald
• Arbor Daze update.
• Storm clean up information and pictures.
• Full time staff changes.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked staff for their report.

Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
