Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the September 2,2010
minutes. Priscilla Cauley made the motion to accept the minutes and Beverly Leake seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee and Library Administrator,Kate Lyon welcomed LuAnn Portugal,
Councilman Leon Hogg and Jan Hogg, and Steve and Loretta Doty to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the statistics. The numbers were down somewhat but the statistics are still very good.
Kate Lyon purchased two art pieces from George Boutwell. "Treasures of Texas"has ten official Texas symbols hidden
in the print. The second art piece is titled"We the People." The art will be in place by the next board meeting.
Masterworks Programs:
Fingerprints performed on Monday, September 13 with 48 attending the program.
We also had the Pulitzer Prize nominated play"Love Letters"on Monday, September 27 with 27 attending the program.
This was a Don Shook Production and not Masterworks.
The Friend's of the Library Fall Book Sale is scheduled for Friday,October 8 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Saturday,
October 9 from 10:00am to 5:00pm,and Sunday, October 10 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
We will have a"Food for Fines"drive from November 1,2010 through November 7, 2010 with the proceeds going to 6
Stones. For each can donated $1.00 is marked off the account for late fees only.
Early Voting starts on Monday, October 18 through Friday,October 29, 2010.
Kate requested the board to consider changing the date of the November board meeting. She will be participating as a
crew member in the 60-mile Breast Cancer walk.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee reminded the board that their$38.00 payment for the tile can be made out to Euless Library
Foundation. Mike also shared with the board that he will be having hip surgery on Thursday,October 14.
2. Mike McGehee asked to change the November Library Board Meeting from November 4th to November 11`h.
The board was in agreement and the next Library Board Meeting will be on Thursday,November 11, 2010 at
7:00pm.

3. Betty Fuller commented on the Gem and Minerals display.
4. Chris McAllister commented on the Masterworks programs.
5. Barney Snitz commented that Fingerprints and Love Letters were both wonderful programs. Barney also
commented that LuAnn Portugal will be walking in the 60-mile Breast Cancer walk in November.
6. Priscilla Cauley announced that she will not re-apply for the Library Board.
CITIZEN INPUT:
LuAnn Portugal commented on the Masterworks Programs.
Councilman Hogg commented on:

2. Fuzzy's Taco
3. Boards&Commissions Interviews
Steve and Loretta: No comments but enjoyed being a part of the meeting.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Chris McAllister and seconded by Betty Fuller.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
