Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the May 6, 2010 minutes.
Barney Snitz made the motion to accept the minutes and Adriane Weinstein seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee and Library Administrator,Kate Lyon welcomed LuAnn Portugal,
Councilman Leon Hogg and Jan Hogg to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate presented the April monthly statistics. The library continues to be very busy.
Masterworks Programs:
The beatlegras program was very successful with 95 attending the performance.
The Friends of the Library Book Sale was the most profitable so far making over$2300. They have received a record
amount of donations during this year. This very organized group is planning ahead for the next sale and has set up a
system to rotate the books in preparation for the next sale. The fall book sale will be October 8th,9th,and 10th.
Summer Reading Club Program:
We had 150 youth attend the SRC Kick-off on June 1,2010. We have 280 children registered in Youth and 120
registered for the Adult Summer Reading Program.
Town Hall Meeting is Monday,June 21st at City Hall. The City Budget will be the emphasis of the meeting. The budget
is very tight this year. On Thursday,June 24th at City Hall is the Water Forum meeting. Both meetings are open to the
public.
Kate Lyon and Betty Fuller attended the North Texas Regional Library System meeting. The state budget is very tight
and will most likely effect NTRLS future and there is a possibility the system will not be able to continue. This would
certainly effect all libraries but especially the smaller libraries in the state.
The Library Supporters Group that was cancelled due to snow in January has been rescheduled for July 24th in Decatur.
Verlon Thompson is coming back to the library on August 13th. He will be performing with Brian Burns and Mike
Brown. Make reservations with Karan.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney Snitz would like to see the staff names on their badges. Kate shared with the board that the staff was
uncomfortable having their names on the badge. Kate inquired at other libraries and found that most do not have
the staff name on the badge for security reasons.
2. Chris McAllister gives Kudos to the Youth Department and the children's programs. Chris complimented how
wonderful the aquarium looks.
3. Priscilla Cauley wanted the board to know that South Euless Elementary School received Exemplary Status this
year and this was accomplished by the dedicated teachers and principal.
4. Marcia Brown retired from HEBISD.
A motion to suspend the July 1, 2010 Library Board Meeting was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by Betty Fuller.
The next scheduled Library Board Meeting will be Thursday,August 5,2010 at 7:00 p.m.
CITIZEN INPUT:
Councilman Leon Hogg encouraged everyone to attend the Town Hall Meeting. He also reports Texas Car Title and
Payday Loans has opened on Main Street. Fuzzy's Tacos will open in August on Highway 10 near Softball World. Aldi
is doing very well. The construction at Midway Elementary is for practice for the Trinity football team.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by Adriane
Weinstein. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
