Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the October 1,2009
minutes. Barney Snitz made the motion to accept the minutes and Adriane Weinstein seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee and Library Administrator, Kate Lyon welcomed LuAnn Portugal,
Councilman Leon Hogg and Jan Hogg to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate reports that statistics continue to be outstanding.
Kate reports that the security guard has started. The police department has completed some training with Steve Niekamp
to serve as security at the library from 3pm to closing Monday through Friday. He has been issued a police radio as
communication if he needs help with problems in the library.
Friends of the Library Book Sale was very successful. They made$3009.93 and gave the library$3000.00.
Flutasia will perform in front of"Blooms of Enlightenment"on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 7:00pm.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee reports that sales for the Euless Library Foundation tile project is going very well. Todd Smith
purchased"The Grange Hall."
2. Chris McAllister reports that the aquarium looks wonderful.
3. Barney Snitz inquired on how we handle loud patrons. Kate responded that the staff will speak with the patron
and that usually takes care of the issue. Kate also reminded the board that we are not an academic library and the
library is not always quiet.
CITIZEN INPUT:
Councilman Hogg reports that the gas well site at Pipeline and Westpark Way has been approved. He also reports the
project around the Target center is still in the works but is slow due to the economy.
LuAnn Portugal complimented the display of the time pieces that was done by Ellen Collins.

ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Betty Fuller and seconded by Barney Snitz. The
meeting was adjourned at 8:51 p.m.
