Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: The Chairman asked for a motion to be made to accept the September 3,2009
minutes. Marcia Brown made the motion to accept the minutes and Barney Snitz seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee and Library Administrator,Kate Lyon welcomed LuAnn Portugal,
Councilman Leon Hogg and Jan Hogg to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Kate reports that statistics continue to be outstanding.
Kate reported that Mid-Cities Genealogical Society has a speaker,Kathleen Kent author of"A Witch In The Family,"
tonight if anyone would like to attend after the board meeting.
Friends of the Library Book Sale will be on October 9, 10, and 11. Early Bird is on Friday,October 9th and admission is
$5.00.
We have received some new tiles for the ELF project and they are beautiful and on display in the Reference Department.
We also have some new fish in the aquarium. The new aquarium service is doing a wonderful job. Please stop by and see
our new fish.
Boards and Commission interviews will be on October 12, 2009. Betty Fuller,Mike McGehee,and Adriane Weinstein
have terms that expire on December 31,2009.
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Mike McGehee asked for a motion on not meeting in December for a regular Library Board Meeting. Motion
passed by a vote of 8 to 0. There will not be a December Library Board Meeting.
2. Barney Snitz reports that the Library Foundation tile project is still doing very well,and ELF is very happy to
have some new tiles for display.
3. Chris McAllister asked to be replaced as representative of the Library Board to Euless Library Foundation.
4. Marcia Brown volunteered to replace Chris starting January,2010.
5. Mike McGehee also reported that John Tippets was the guest speaker at the Annual Meeting for the Euless
Library Foundation that was held in September with more than 60 people attending the meeting.

CITIZEN INPUT:
Leon Hogg reported that the news regarding the city having to pay the Santeria court costs are incorrect.
Leon Hogg also reported that he will be in the interviews for the Library Board on September 12,2009.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Priscilla Cauley and seconded by Adriane
Weinstein. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
