Item 1 - CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by Clyde
Cullum at 11:00 a.m. at City Hall, City of Euless, 201 N. Ector Drive, Building
A., Conference Room 2, Euless, Texas 76039
Clyde Cullum introduced and welcomed the new Animal Control Supervisor,
Larry James.
After ASAB discussion, amendments to the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 10,
Animals, with emphasis on the following sections, Article III. Care and Services
and Article VI. Impoundment, will be submitted to City Council in the near future
for review.
Chapter 10, Animals, Article III. Care and Services:
Section 10-62, Fowl running at large.
Section 10-66, Barking Dogs.
Section 10-71, Vicious animals.
Section 10-73, Impoundment of animals induced by
harbor's or owner's violation of federal, state, county or
municipal laws.
Section 10-74, Sanitary condition of public property.

Section 10-168, Adoption of dogs or cats.
Item 2 -APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF APRIL 19, 2001
After review of the minutes, minutes were approved as read.
Item 3 - DISCUSSION OF ANIMAL SHELTER STAFFING CHANGES
Discussion took place regarding the Animal Shelter's staffing changes. Clyde
Cullum stated that Larry James has been with the City of Euless for twenty years,
has good management skills and works well with personnel and the public.
Clyde Cullum stated that employee Kevin Mathews, has eight years of experience
working at the City of Garland animal shelter, and Larry Atkinson, has received
his Basic Certificate that qualifies him as Animal Officer 1.
Tammy Stanley stated her concerns about the limited knowledge and experience
with the new Animal Shelter personnel. Board members and staff stated with the
new professional management and staff personnel that the Animal Shelter is
running professional. The City of Bedford is providing mutual aid to the City of
Euless Animal Shelter staff as questions arise.
Discussion took place regarding the screening process for the Animal Shelter,
ways to expand on the process and avenues to access additional information.
Item 4 - DISCUSSION OF INTERNET AND E-MAIL SERVICES
Clyde Cullum stated that the e-mail for the Animal Shelter is up and running. The
Internet is in the process of going online.
Discussion took place regarding benefits of having e-mail and internet access.
The animals at the shelter can be put on the internet for adoption, we would be
able to access databases for information, update our web page with more
information, and various other possibilities.
Adjourn
Leon Hogg requested that the Animal Shelter Advisory Board meetings be held
more formally, and would like the Board to elect a Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
He requested the above items be on the next agenda for discussion.
