OF THE
ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD
March 21, 2002
Item 1 - CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by Clyde Cullum at 2:08
p.m. at City Hall, City of Euless, 201 N. Ector Drive, Building A., Conference Room 2, Euless,
Texas 76039.
The following members were in attendance:
Leon Hogg
Gayla Maas, D.V.M
Clyde Cullum
Absent: Tammy Hawley
Staff Support: Gary McKamie Randy Byers Kathy Rezin
Item 2 - REVIEW AND APPROVE MINUTES FROM MEETING OF OCTOBER 25,
2001
Clyde Cullum asked if there were any questions or additions to the minutes of October 25, 2001.
Leon Hogg stated that Clyde Cullum should be moved under Board Members Present, since he is
an official Board Member. With the change the motion was made by Leon Hogg and seconded
by Clyde Cullum to approve the minutes. Motion approved unanimously.
Item 3 - DISCUSSION OF OFFICERS
After a table wide discussion Clyde Cullum made a motion to elect Leon Hogg as Chairman and
seconded by Gayla Maas. Gayla Maas made a motion to elect Clyde Cullum as Vice-Chairman
and was seconded by Leon Hogg. Discussion took place regarding increasing the ASAB
members to six (6) with the addition of two (2) citizens. Randy Byers stated that citizens might
not be available to attend the morning-scheduled meetings. Leon Hogg stated that the
application could indicate the length of service and schedule. Leon Hogg will bring this item
before City Council.

Item 4 - CODE OF ORDINANCE UPDATE
Clyde Cullum stated that we have received a response from the city attorney regarding the
ordinance changes. A copy of the letter was presented to the Board members. After a table-wide
discussion of the attorney's response, the requested changes and comments will require further
review and referred back to the attorney for approval.
Animal Shelter employee's will start vaccinating the shelter dogs, after the required three (3) day
waiting period, with a combination vaccine to help prevent kennel cough and other contagious
diseases that are easily spread throughout the kennel. Gayla Maas, D.V.M., will train the Animal
Shelter employees the correct way to administer the shots. This program will have a positive
affect on the Animal Shelter's image as having healthy animals for adoption.
Item 5 -REVIEW AND APPROVE MEETING SCHEDULE FOR 2002
After table-wide discussion the schedule was approved unanimously as follows:

Time: 11:00 a.m.
Item 6 - ADJOURN
Clyde Cullum asked if there were any additional questions or comments. The meeting was
adjourned at 3:06 p.m.
