Parks and Leisure Services Board
June 3, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on
Monday, June 3, 2019 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman Randy
Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Roger Sickler, Magen Brown, and
Kay Seeger, Isha Sharma and Jason Reyes. Members absent: None.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, and Administrative Secretary Jordan Peterson.
Visitors present: None.
INVOCATION
Mr. Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
May 6, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as presented
and was seconded by Mr. Raab. The vote was unanimous.

II. Beautification Award
a. Chairman Jones announced the June 2019 Residential Yard of the Month winner was Mr. &
Mrs. Louis and Susan Mendes at 1701 Chittam Drive. This property offers many drought tolerant
plants that will survive and look great throughout the hot summer months. There are shrubs
and small ornamental tress such as Dessert Willow, Vitex, and Crape myrtle, Abelia bush and
a nice well-manicured plush lawn to add to the curb appeal. We appreciate their effort, and
their award will be delivered to them.
b. Chairman Jones announced the June 2019 Business/Civic/Governmental Beautification
award winner goes to The Pointe at Fair Oaks Apartments at 301 Fair Oaks Blvd. This property has
a lot of color and many different species of plants that are drought tolerant and can survive
the hot summer months. Their creative landscape includes plants such as Sedum, sweet
potato vine, zinnia, knockout roses, coleus, and burford holly shrubs just name a few. Their
property is always well kept and trash free. We appreciate their effort, and their award will be
delivered to them.
III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for May:
a. Total man hours for Mav 1-31 =807
• 360.00 Horticulture
• 214.00 Forestry
• 205.00 Greenhouse
• 8.00 Special Projects
• 20.00 Training
Assisted in removing trees and limbs from storm damage.
i Tree removal on Ash and Timber Ridge.
Trimmed trees at CED Electric.
IV. Directors Report— Ray McDonald
• Park project updates.
• Full time staff changes update.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked staff for their report.
