Les `l'i.etc, 5505 We"Stlake, i-)resented the request for rezoning. He presented in 'ormation regarding the zoning across Glade Road in Grapevine and the improvements being made in the area.. He also presented a petition sign}ed by ho n-leowl—lerS 111 lavor of the zoning request. Vice-Chairman Deithloff asked for any addition proponents. There being none, he asked for any opponents. Mr. i)o:ag Srrrithermara, 410 Bluegrass Lane; Carolyn Zajac, Bluegrass Lane; Jo Dickey, 2908 Baze; and 'ferry Srnitherrnan, 410 Bluegrass, spoke in opposition of the .coning. request. The citizens cited the traffic: hazard at Bale; and Glade roads, available commercial property already in the area at N. Main and Glade, and the fact that Mr. `f'jetZ wa3 land specula,#-.irai;. One citiZen saagg'ested turning the property into ra park. There being no additional. opponents, Vice--Chairman Deithloff elosrad the public hearing. The Cornrnission members expressed their reservations about commercial zoning at this location. Mr. Owens r.nade a motion to recoirarnend denial of 4-Z,C'--85-33. Mr. 1-fill iecorided the motion, and the vote is as follows: -Ayes: Messrs, Owens, Hill, Tyson, I;eMillon, In;rani & Deithloff Nays: None Vice--Chairman Deithloff declared the motion carried. ELECTION OF OFFICERS S Mr. Owens made a motion to postpone election of officers, iint.il such time that the City Council had appointed a new member to the Planning Sr Zoning Commission to repi.nCe John 1,ynch in order that all rriembe.�-4 of the Ccrnr.;i;sion cools participate it the eleetfor, of officers. The motion died for lack of a second. M,-. N"e tlillon stated that this would be his last meeting on the P & I Commission. He stated that he will. be, te;c,hinl; for° the NCTCOG on the nights of the P & Z greetings. In light of this; V ice-Chairman Deithloff stated he would like to postpone the electicu.s until the two vacancies are filler. The rernainder of the Comfoi�sion concurred ;Pith this decision. ` I.
