The minutes of the least regular meeting dated August 15, 1989, were
approved as written.

WNSIDERAT'ION OF PROPOSED SIGN ORDINANCE REGITiA`.!IONS DATED AUGUST, 1989
Mr. Rod `(`yi.e:'.r, Senior Planner, explained that the proposed sign ordinance
kr.oi]ld a3-o.end sections of the zoning ordinance, code of ordinances, and fee
ordinance. He stated the City C;ounc.i.l bad requested amendments tc the sign
ordinance because they .felt the current one was not equitable or serving in
the public's 3:.e::s>t interest.
Mr. Tyler went n t o'v er each subsection of the proposed sign ordinance
compariQg the proposed ordinance with the current ordinance and describing
the changes made.
Mr. `i'ysen questioned the wording of the. term, "SIGN ik;:RA, CALC ULATIOn OF"
in Section 9-300.
Mr. Tyler stated that if the Commission felt the term was unclear, he would
clarify its intent.
Mr. Deithlof f "(tu'de a motion to approve the proposed sign ordinance as
submitted subject to "SIGN AEA, CALCti3::r-+.'lION OF" in Section 9-300 being
clarified.
Mr.. hill seconded the .motion.
Ayes: Messrs. Dei.thloff, Hill, Tyson, Zahn and Ingralf'.
Nays:: None
Chairman Ingram declared the motion carried.

REPORTS
Chairman Ingram requested that the election of officers be placed on the
next P & Z agenda.
