Tipton, inc. , Consulting Engineers, requesting that the Commission table this item until he and h .s client had met with city staff and further addressed some of the concerns in the platting and engineering of this project. Mr. Deithioff stated that if it was acceptable procedure for an applicant to r£:`.i1ues''t the Commission to table an item, he felt: the request should be honored. Where being no further discussion between the commissioners, Chairman irman H i.11 stated he would entertain a motion. Per. €,ei.thloff guie a motion to accept the letter of request and rear #P-90-14 at a. later date. Mr. Tyson seconded the motion and the vote was as follows: Ayes. Hessers. €i€--`.i_thloff, Tyson, Hill, Zahn Nays: Mr. :.wens Chairman Hill declared the motion carried. #ZC-90-01' - SPECIFIC USE PERMIT REQUEST - OF BOBBY FIOZLOWAY, A-`I.'KX A(FI6O130TIV , FOR A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR CAR SANS ON ONE-HALF ACRE OF LAND IN THE :J.W_ LEY ELLEN ADDITION; GENE- RALLY LY 10CA ED AT 2807 WEST EULESS BOULEVARD Chairman Hill explained the rules governing a public hearing and then opened the public hearing. Mr. Bobby Holloway, A--Tex Automotive, presented this request and stated he 'sdould answer any questions t.i-de C'L::2im scion so desired. PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION, NOVEMBER 10, 1990e PAGE 'TREE in response to a question by Mr. Hill , Mr. Holloway ex- plained that the intent of the property and the Specific Use Permit was to sale Classic and Collectible Automobiles. His business is to cosmetically refurbish and recondition classic cars. The restorations are performed indoors, and the ou-11—do or display will be in the daytime only. After hours the cars are "ke=pt under lock and key.'' M?-_ I'yson asp -,i± that Mr. Holloway define the relationship between his business and Cal.-Tex, the tenant he shares space with. Mr. Holloway explained that altk:c.ugh. A-Tex and Cal-Tex do share space, Cal-Tex is a +Iolk;_wagon Service only. He .7_oes retail. some %F parts, but Cal-Tex would not be displaying any wars. Several. Commissioners expressed concern relating to the parking requirements for this area. Mr. Holloway explained that normally he only has 4 to 6 vehicles on display at a time. He was reqmesting 12 spaces, should he have a few more from time to time. Mr. Tyler stated that the parking was suff.i_cient to satisfy city ordinances. Additionally, 1" sated that &H. 10's width from right-of-way to Night-of-way was 160' . Mr. Tyson and Mr. Owens reiterated their concern with parking explaining the danger they could foresee should customers have to ?ark on S.H. 10 becau tie parking proved to be insufficient. Mr. Owens stated that granting this request would set a "precedence" for similar requests in the future. Mr. Hill disagreed. Responding to a question by .fir. . l'y.on., Mr. Holloway stated that he would have no problem reducing the :cumber of spaces requested for display from 12 to 10, There being no further questions for Per. Holloway, Chairman Hill called for any additional proponents. There being none, Chairman Mill called for any opponents. There being none, Chairman Hill closed the public hearing and asked for a motion.. Mr. Tyson made a motion to reco-Tutiend approval of this Specific Ilse Permit subject to it being valid with A-Tex Certificate of Occupancy only, and the site plan be changed to r7efxect 10 spaces for sale vehicles and 2 additional customer parking spaces.
