EULESS ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD
June 12,2019
ITEM 1 - CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by
Director of Public Works and Engineering Hal Cranor at 11:34 A.M. at the City of Euless
Public Works Facility, 1513 Westpark Way, Euless, Texas 76040.
The following members were in attendance:
Dr. Susan Read
City Council Member Eddie Price
Director of Public Works and Engineering Hal Cranor
Staff Members Present:
Assistant City Manager Chris Barker
Assistant Director of Public Works James Whitt
Facilities Foreman Kenny Spargur
Animal Control Supervisor Larry Atkinson
Animal Control Officer Jodan Shelton' Administrative Secretary Debbie Latour

ITEM 2 - REVIEW & APPROVE MEETING MTNUTES FROM SEPTEMBER 12, 20'18
Director Cranor asked if there were any comments or questions regarding the minutes of
March 13,2019. With no questions or comments, the minutes were accepted as written.
ITEM 3 - UPDATE ON GAP
ACO Supervisor reported that Trinity GAP and the City of Euless have been approved by
PetSmart to hold adoption events at their retail center at Glade Rd. & SH121. GAP will
be having an adoption event atthis location on June 1Sth. ln lieu of the Pet Fair, on g/28
Gap will hold a "Pet Palooza"at the Euless Animal Shelter which will include adoptions,
dog bathing, TCAP participation, and a garage sale.

ITEM 4. QUARTERLY REPORT
Composite of quarterly calls for service were distributed along with case statistics per
species' Specifics of the case statistics were discussed including an increase in injured
animal calls. Mr. Barker discussed State Legislation as it pertains io the permitted number
of animals owned.
ITEM 5 - SHELTER / FACILITY UPDATE
ACO Supervisor Atkinson reported the following:o ACo supervisor Atkinson & Aco Kraft completed snake school.o ACO Shelton participated in Career Day at Meadowcreek Elementary on 5t24..o Waiting for quote to come in to reptace the outer fence with a heavier gauge
aluminum.
ITEM 6 - QUESTIONS / COMMENTS
Mr' Barker mentioned the increase in Open Records Requests regarding the AnimalShelter. Mr' Price inquired where raccoons that are caugfrt in tra[s are taken to bereleased' ACO Supervisor Atkinson explained. Mr. Barkei mentioned that the City islooking at the feasibility.of changing the fee ordinance as it pertains to animal adoptions.
