APTIOVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting of February 5, 1991, were approved as written. Tan Wesson, petitioner for the proposed Midway Billiards Parlor, introduced hers business partners, Norman & ?nary Virgil to the commission.on. She ts]E`n reviewed with the -.omr-ii].sloi-a statist;c8 regarding the game of billiards. She stated the billiards parlor being proposed at 00 E. Harwood would not be the stereotypical pool h.al.l in size, lighting or atmosphere. She ,sent on to say this billiards parlor would increase city T'E`vE?:"1ues and provide is clean, fun place for people to enjoy themselves. Ms. Wesson also stated she felt this location would best suit their needs as most billiards parlors of the caliber she is proposing seem to prosper- it shopping centers Mr. Tyson stated that the City is recreation use; to locate an S.H. 0 hear Softball world and asked if any locations were considered in that area. Ids. Wesson stated that they had tried to find a suitable location on S.H. 1:1, but nothing was found that :net their needs. She further stated that the type of pocket billiards establishment she was trying U; establi.sb required a hype of atmosphere that was not available along S.H. 10 Mr. Smith asked what the estimated percentage of revenue would be and if Ms. Wesson was the owner of ..%t.her billiards parlors CAA which the atmosphere could be an example of ;shat Ms. Wesson is trying to attain. Ms. Wesson stated that this was her first billiards parlor, but hoped it ;mould prosper so that she could d open more in the future. Concerning the breakdown of revenues, Ms. Wesson stated 49.3% would be from alcol.ol sales, t:.e:: :rest. TP. rentals. Fox. Owens stated he was opposed to the percentage of alcohol sales and that he does not feel mixing liquor and pool would work.
