MINUTES PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION JULY 21, 1992 The Pre-Commission meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman ,lack Hill at 6:00 p.m. , 'in the Conference Room of the Euless Municipal Building. MEMBERS & STAFF PRESENT t. EMUER Jack Hill Letty Lynn Maloney Ronald Young George Zahn John Deithloff Billy Owens Carl Tyson John Craig, Director of Development Rod Tyler, Assistant Director of Development Paul Kruckemeyer, City Engineer Susan Weaver, Assistant City Engineer H. Kay Godbey, Assistant City Manager Henry Boatright, Councilman Linda Lux, Staff Secretary VISITORS. Novae DISCUSSION OF THE MINIMUM MING CODE Director of Development, John Craig, discussed with the Commissioners the proposed ordinance for the implementation of standards that would establish minimum living conditions for all dwelling's in the City. He stated this ordinance would keep the lower income apartments from deteriorating any more than they are now. This would force owners to bring their apartments up to at least minimum standards. He again stated this ordinance would apply to all single and multi-family districts and is considered a "maintenance ordinance". Mr. Craig reiterated again that an annual fee of $1.00 per rental unit would be charged to obtain a license and these monies would be reinvested back into the program for the hiring of additional staff to perform the required inspections. It was the consensus of the Commissioners that this item be placed as an item on the agenda for the meeting of August 4, 1992, KAMM. AND ZONING COMMISSION C T -- CONFEREKE ROOM The Planning and Zoning Commission continued their Meeting in the Conference Room at 7:00 p.m. , for the consideration of scheduled items. PLANNING AND ZONING C"ISSION, JULY ZI, 1992._.T._PAGE TWO APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the July 7, 1992, planning and Zoning Commission meeting were approved as written. I. RE tI$ Assistant Director of Development, Mr. Rod Tyler, stated he had nothing to report. There being no further discussion, Chairman Hill adjourned the meeting at 7:01 p.m. and the Commissioners continued their Pre-Commission Meeting for the discussion of the Unified Development. Code. DISCUSSION OF THE UNIFIED OEV P CON TR Assistant Director of Development, Rod Tyler, advised the Commissioners that the ORC (Development Reviews Committee) has been reviewing the Unified Development Control Document and have made some corrections and changes to the UDC document.
