CONSIDER THE REQUEST OF PASTOR JOEL So ME CH CA FOR A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR A CHURCH -- 1202 W. EULESS BOULEVARD Chairman Hill explainer the rules governing a. public hearing and then opened the public hc arn . Pastor Joel Menchaca, 41.20 Buckwheat, Fort Worth, representing Calvary Chapel Assembly bly of God, advised the Commissioners they are in the process of purchasing the property for a church for the Hispanic co€€rmunity° He stated they have previously been meeting t: the Holiday Inn in Bedford for the last three ("s} years and this site is a n ideal location. They presently have about, 25 to 30 members attending their church and Sunday school c la ses both €r orninp and evening. They someday envision opening a Christian Academy for school children for grades I. through 12. Pastor Menchaca stated this location will be adequate for five (5) to seven (7) years before outgrowing the facility and they would try to purchase some surrounding property behind the present location or find so€€€e other option. He mentioned -they do not plan on operating a day care facility, only a church and Sunday school classrooms. iFairrran Hill asked for any proponents. There krgr€ct none, he called for any opponents. There being none, he closed the public. hearing and asked for discussion among the Commissioners, Chairman Owens asked if the church would be owned by trustees or by him? Pastor Menchaca advised the Commissioners that he believes the church should not he owned by individuals but should be owned by the congregation, Commissioner Deithloff moved to approve Zoning Case *92-16-SP for a Specific Use Permit for a Church Commissioner Tyson seconded the motion and the vote was as follows: PLANNING ... € .... � � THREE€ DC � I992 1. Mr, Joe Hennig, Director of Development and Operations, welcomed J, C. Jones, II the € ew Plan ning and Zoning Coimiissioner who will be taking g off ice in January. `halriiia n Hill stated there will be no Planning and Zoning meeting on December 15th, instead they will be holding a Wort Session on the proposed Unified Development Control Document. 'There being no further discussion, Chairman Hill adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m. f
