Parks and Leisure Services Board
October 7th, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on
Monday, September 9, 2019 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Roger Sickler, Magen Brown,
and Kay Seeger, and Jason Reyes.
Members Absent: Isha Sharma
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, and Administrative Secretary Myndi Muncy.

INVOCATION
Mr. Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
October 7, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Jones made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Mr. Reyes. The vote was unanimous.

c. Kay Seger—Preserve & Mcormick: Wasp nest by the bird watching station.

II. Beautification Award
a. Chairman Jones announced the October 2019 Residential Yard of the Month winner was
Mr. Matilde Ramirez at 606 Aransas Drive. This property is very well maintained with many
different plant species that are drought tolerant. Some of these resilient plants are box wood
shrubs, Mexican petunia, soft leaf yucca, Liriope Grass, Crape myrtle, Chinese Pistache Tree and
nice green turf grass. We appreciate their effort, and their award will be delivered to them.
b. Chairman Jones announced the October 2019 Business/Civic/Governmental Beautification
award winner goes to Burger King at 101 W. Euless Boulevard. This landscape is very low
maintenance and drought tolerant and requires very little water. This landscape offers plants
species such as Dwarf Yaupon Hollies, Eleagnus Pungus, Crape Myrtle Trees, Cedar Elm Trees and
Sea Green juniper.We appreciate their effort, and their award will be delivered to them.
III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for September:
a. Total man hours for September 1-30 =925
• 522.00 Horticulture
• 240.00 Forestry
• 13.00 Greenhouse
• 125.00 Special Projects
• 64.00 Training
➢ Lifted trees at Fire Administration for 911 remembrance.
➢ Replaced magnolia at fuller house.
➢ Removed fallen trees at Softball World.
IV. Directors Report—Ray McDonald
• Fiscal year 2020 approved projects.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked staff for their report.
V. Other New Business

Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
was adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
