4. Plaque—Faye Stinneford stated the plaque has been updated. A discussion ensued regarding a
memorial plaque for Betty Fuller. The names of those who donate a minimum of$25 to a
plaque would have their name on the plaque, which would be placed at the museum. In
addition, a motion was made by Barbara Collier to use the Committee funds to pay for a
separate memorial plaque and suggested Faye Stinneford be responsible for overseeing the
purchase. The motion was seconded by Al Browning, and the motion carried.

6. Publicity/Program/Speakers—Mavy Wright stated she was in the process of arranging
speakers for future meetings in 2020.
7. Historical Albums—Marilyn Long indicated work on the scrapbooks is progressing well. Once
the albums are complete, she will contact Ofa Faiva-Siale for archiving and the albums will be

9. Artifact Recovery—Andy Weinzapfel expressed disappointment on his ongoing metal detecting
project. He has been having trouble getting approval from the City of Fort Worth to search the
area of a proposed Mosier Valley park. He stated he had been doing further research on the
property which was a wedding present from Lucy Lee to The Johnsons who were slaves who
lived on it. He indicated he would continue his investigations and hoped to begin metal
detecting after the hard freeze. He expressed concern for detecting items before they are
forever lost due to future development of the property. A suggestion was made to contact the
daughter of Bob Ray Sanders who might have some valuable information. Andy also stated he
had many of Weldon Cannon's documents and will turn them over to the museum as soon as he
completes the project.
10. Historical Tree Program—no report.
11. Inventory—Barbara Collier mentioned her committee has not met recently and will postpone
future meetings until January. She stated she had been very busy working on a project with the
DAR which had been collecting oral and written history from veterans, especially those from
WWII. Videos from O.D. Lively, Billy Byers, and David Massey were recent projects. If possible,
she would like to obtain permission from these veterans to share their personal videos with the
Committee.

CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Mavy Wright mentioned she and Suzi McCormick had recently attended a workshop at the Tarrant
County Subcourthouse regarding local history.
STAFF REPORT
Ofa Faiva-Siale shared the invitation to attend the December Christmas meeting on December 9 at
Texas Star at 10am. Please RSVP to her.
COMMITTEE REPORT/INPUT
Discussion ensued regarding local historical and preservation organizations and their purposes.
Mavy stated the Grapevine Historical Preservation Committee is one of the most dynamic groups in
our area who is also very productive and educational. Our Chairperson Suzi McCormick is a
member of the Tarrant County Historical Society and has access to their valuable collection and
preservation projects. Weldon Cannon has also worked with the Tarrant County organization.
Marilyn Long acknowledged Weldon Cannon's valuable research and hoped that there had been an
oral history of his memories and findings. This would require many hours due to his unlimited
knowledge.
Joe Cannon also remarked that the Calloway Cemetery was once a slave cemetery. He had recently
met a descendant of the Calloways.
ADJOURNMENT
Al Browning made a motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Gary Parker. After
unanimous approval, the meeting adjourned at 11:00a.m.
