PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
DECEMBER 16, '1997
MINUTES
The Pre-Commission meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to
order by Chairman Ronald Young at 5;30 p.m. in the Building "A" Conference Room.
Four members of the Planning and Zoning Commission were in attendance.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CONSIDERATION OF SCHEDULED ITEMS
COUNCIL CHAMBERS.
Chairman Ronald Young called the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to order
at 7:00 p.m. for the consideration of scheduled items. He stated there were four
members of the Planning and Zoning Commission present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND INVOCATION: The Pledge of Allegiance was given
by Commissioner Zahn and the Invocation was given by Chairman Young,
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Eggers made the motion to approve the minutes for the November 18,
1997, Planning and Zoning meeting as presented. The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Owens.
The vote was as follows:
Ayes. Commissioners Eggers, Owens, Young, Zahn
Nays: None
Absent. Commissioners Shuler, Bright, McMillion

The motion carried.
REGULAR AGENDA
ITEM 1. CONSIDER APPROVAL - FINAL. PLAT #P-9 7-14 - MANSIONS BY THE
VINEYARD
Mansions by the Vineyard, Block A, Lot 1
Bo Bass, Director of Planning and Development described the property for this item as;
Mansions by the Vineyard, Block A, Lot 1; located East of SH 121 North, 2400 N. SH
121, The Development Review Committee recommended approval.
Commissioner Owens stated he noticed that advertisements for the Mansions by the
Vineyard Addition did not recognize the City of Euless. He stated without Euless being
addressed on the plat it could easily be misconstrued to be the Vineyards Subdivision
in the City of Grapevine.
Chairman Young stated that the City of Euless should refrain from naming subdivisions
for developers.
Bo Bass; Director of Planning and Development stated that typo's on the plat have
been noted and they would be corrected.
Commissioner Zahn made the motion to recommend approval of Final Plat #P-97-14
with corrections. Commissioner Eggers seconded the motion.
The vote was as follows:
Ayes: Commissioners Zahn, Eggers, Young
Nays: Commissioner Owens
Absent: Commissioners Shuler, Bright, McMillion
The motion carried.
ITEM 2. REPORTS
The Commission discussed Highway 121 Corridor District.
Commissioner Owens asked if it would be advantageous to have a joint meeting with
the City Council regarding the Highway 121 Corridor District.
Chairman Young stated that he felt comfortable with the current process,
Commissioner Owens stated he was concerned with setting zone standards as
presented in the Highway 121 Corridor package without further discussion or
consideration.

Bo Bass stated that time is of the essence and we deed to go forward with the process.
Commissioner Zahn stated he felt the rezoning is being superseded by the Highway
121 District project.
Bo Bass compared the Highway 121 Corridor District process to the Texas Ten
process, saying that when the standards are set then the zoning will fall in place.
ADJOURNMENT:
