Minutes
November 14, 1994
Members Present: Bill Byers, Weldon Cannon, Diana Crawford, Geri
Donworth, Mazie Eden, Betty Fuller, Evelyn Himes, Iva Nail , Robert
Nail , Helen Payton, Jean Whitener, and Nina Winters.
Staff Present: Rick Herold and Julia Wakeley.
Guests Present: Craig Meldes - Archi Texas, Glenn Walker -
Euless City Council
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 10:04 a.m.
The minutes of the October 3 meeting were
approved as corrected.
I. OLD BUSINESS
A. Euless Christmas Village
Rick Herold reported that a representation of the old
Grange Hall would be included in the Christmas village
scene for the 12 days of Christmas celebration "Daze of
Christmas" December 2 , 3 , & 4 .
B. Nina Winters made a motion authorizing Diana Crawford to
spend up to $200.00 for "Thank you's" to those who helped
support the move and restoration of the Fuller House.
Mazie Eden seconded the motion; the motion passed
unanimously.
II. New Business
A. Archi Texas Presentation
Craig Melde (former preservation planner for the city of
Dallas 1975-1976) whose Archi Texas firm was established
in 1978 , reviewed his firm's proposal for preservation
services for the City of Euless.
His oral presentation covered the information printed in
his printed proposal distributed to each member. (See
proposal in files) . The presentation reviewed the
following:

• Scope of Services
• Task 1 - Historic Resource Survey
• Task 2 - Development of Preservation Goals &
Strategies
• Task 3 - Preservation Technical Assistance
• Task 4 - Assistance in Developinng Fund raising
Strategy ( including hourly rates)
Archi Texas is on retainer for the City of Grapevine
and the Grapevine Historical Foundation which share
costs.
B. Fuller House
The following funds have been made available for
restoration of the Fuller House.
• Hotel/Motel Tax Fund $ 50,000
• Betterment Fund 20,000
• Donations 7,000
Total $ 77,000
Expenses 17 .000
Remaining $ 60 ,000
The motion by Geri Donworth seconded by Nina Winters for
Rick Herold to obtain bids for the restoration of the
Fuller House specifically for completing the exterior,
plumbing and renovation of 2-3 rooms was passed
unanimously.
Glenn Walker, city council representative, recommended
that the Historical Committee develop a proposal for the
restoration of the Fuller House and other projects to be
considered as priorities by the committee. The proposal
would be presented to the city council for study and
approval .
The meeting adjourned at 11:35 A.M.
