OLD BUSINESS
Item No. 1 : Member Reports
Jean Whitener recommended that the committee order 3 1/2" frosted white Christmas
ornaments with sepia prints of Euless historical sites for resale as an additional money
generating project. Diana Crawford will contact Beverly Smith for exact cost figures to
be presented at the March meeting. Locations discussed for the sale of the ornaments
were water office, recreation center and library.
Diana Crawford displayed samples of the Historical Committee Fuller House "Thank You"
cards. Members discussed the purchase of blank cards for fundraising. Fifty packages
(5 historical site scenes--2 of each scene) cost approximately $213.00. Envelopes are
an additional $40.00. The cost of 200 packages is only $291.00 plus $185.00 for
envelopes. The committee will decide on the number to be purchased at the March
meeting.
The Mid-Cities News article regarding the Audie Murphy Rodeo was distributed. The
possibility of displaying rodeo memorabilia and/or photos of the event at the committee's
Arbor Daze booth was discussed. Betty Fuller will contact George Brown (Stephenville,
817-968-2268) who supervised and ran the rodeo for Ray Woods to solicit photos and
memorabilia.
The Historical Preservation Committee will have two booths at the Arbor Daze
celebration. The Preservation booth will be located in the premium tent. Members will
also staff the food booth donated by Taco Bell. All proceeds will be donated to the
Historical Committee's Preservation Fund.
Betty Fuller reported that oral histories by Willie Byers and Jennie Payton had been
recorded.
Robert Nail made a motion that National Register designation forms and relevant
information be completed on the Fuller House and forwarded to Austin. The official State
Commission response will be given to the Fuller House Work Committee which will make
recommendation for final bid decisions for restoration of the home.
Evelyn Himes seconded the motion, and the motion was unanimously approved.
The Fuller House floor plan prepared by Architect Roddy Boggus will be included in the
portfolio sent to the Texas Historical Commission.
The Historical Preservation Committee will serve "thank you" snacks to the 14 city
employees at the Midway Park's shop at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2. The snacks are
a token of appreciation for the work involved in relocating the Fuller House adjacent to
the Ruth Millican Center.
Diana Crawford circulated Euless city maps made by David Allen. She reported that
these early day maps could become part of an interactive history of Euless computer
program. The committee will endeavor to solicit the donation of a 16 megabyte RAM
computer (w/CD player, 1375" color monitor) to be used by Euless residents who wish
to obtain information about the early history of the city.

Diana Crawford gave each member sign-up sheets and urged the membership to enlist
the assistance of friends and/or groups to serve as hosts/hostesses at the Taco Bell and
Historical Committee's booths. The addition of a food booth will require many more
volunteer workers than were needed last year.
