MINUTES
APRIL 10, 1995
The meeting of the Euless Historical Preservation Committee was called to order
at 10:15 a.rn.: with Chairman Diana Crawford presiding.

Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the March 13. 1995: meeting were approved as written after
clarification and verification of notecard fundraiser costs to Chairman.
OLD BUSINESS
Item No. 1: Member Reports
Jean Whitener shared photo received of early 1900's Euless School program.
Welcome to Lawrence Jernigan. He shared photos taken at the Dock McGinnis Drive
street re-naming ceremony and expressed his thanks on behalf of his family to the
city again for the recognition to his grandfather.
Item No. 2: Fuller House Update
Chairman circulated letter from Texas Historical Commission stating ineligibility
of Fuller house for a National Register of Historic Places marker. Bill Byers
updated committee on interest by TU Electric to take on the Fuller House as a
community work service project to be held May 20. TU Electric will submit the
project to their selection committee for review with other 7 proposals and will
advise. TU would be interested in insulating the house as their project along with
supplying volunteers who could assist in cleaning the bricks.
Inquiries will be made this week to companies who submitted bids to see if bids
stili stand and when work can be started. Work slated includes the following:
Roof, air conditioning and heating, concrete slab for porch, and bricking.
Appreciation was expressed to Girl Scout Troop 1521 and their leaders JoAnn
Caraway and Jean Collier for cleaning bricks at the Fuller House site March 31.
item No. 3: Arbor Daze
Members were encourage to continue recruiting volunteers for both booths and to
turn in their preferences to Chairman Crawford for assignment.
Chairman Crawford updated committee on Taco bell's commitment to the booth
stating that Taco Dell had agreed to promo the food, donating all proceeds (after
the 20% overhead to Arbor Daze, to the renovation of the Fuller House. Taco Bell
will have a manager on site to coordinate the stocking of food items.
Discussion of information booth display items to include selling note cards and
FLINC cookbooks ($3 from the sale of each $8 book to be given to the HPC).
Information booth will close at 9pm on Friday and Saturday. Rick Herold informed
the committee of reasons vendor booths hours were extended to midnight due to
the high show attendance late at night and that sales on Sunday evening are good
because there begins to be a limited selection.
Mayor Mary Lib Salah entered the meeting and departed after presenting a copy of
Willie Byers written recollections of early Euless, to particular the library.
NEW BUSINESS
item No. 1: Called meeting
Official called meeting will not be required. Members of the committee available
will meet to prepare note card packages for sale. No business will be conducted.
Item No. 2: New Historical Societies
Nina Winters informed the committee of two new historical committees formed -
The order of WWI and Order of WWII. These societies are lineage societies for
people who have family that fought in either of those wars.
Adjournment
There being no further business to discuss. the meeting was adjourned at 1 1:20pm.
