Minutes
September 9, 1996
The September 9, 1996 meeting of Euless Historical
Preservation Committee was called to order at 10:15 a.m. with
Chairperson Diana Crawford presiding.
Members Present
Diana Crawford, Willie Mae McCormick, Betty Fuller, Weldon
Cannon, Jean Whitener and Helen Payton
Guests Present
Troy Fuller
Staff Members Present
Ray McDonald, Projects Supervisor and Julia Wakeley, Parks &
Leisure Services Manager
Approval of Minutes
Minutes corrected to include Willie Huffman Byers and Homer
Fuller to list of Recognition of Special Citizens.
I. Old Business
A. Fuller House Update
Diana Crawford will appear at Park Board Meeting
September 9, 1996 to ask approval of fence design and
relocation of jogging track.
After discussion by committee, motion made by Weldon
Cannon, seconded by Jean Whitener that wrought iron fence
surrounding Fuller House be painted black, motion carried.
Ray McDonald has purchase order for $9,500 to Euless
Fence Co. for installation when approval received.
Mr. Storey, electrician, has turned in a list of
supplies needed to begin electrical work.
B. Historical Marker
Marker sent to foundry for casting and should be ready
in about 2 1/2 months (around December. )
After viewing the Adam Euless marker site, it is the
opinion of committee members that the brick circle is not
large enough to accommodate a group of people to view the
marker as was discussed in the original design. Diana
Crawford will confer with Kevin Mercer regarding the
design.
Weldon Cannon is working with Betty Yarbrough on a
display of the Adam Euless family for the library grand

opening. He is asking the Euless Family for pictures, etc.
for the display. Weldon is also asking descendants to be
present for unveiling of the Adam Euless marker.
C. Member Reports
Photo Collection - Jean Whitener has gotten three
pictures of the first Euless School.
Morris Estate - Troy Fuller reported that Morris Estate
on Pipeline Road has been sold. Purchaser unknown.
Church History - Weldon Cannon is continuing work on
church history.
II. New Business
Letter received from Audie Murphy research foundation requesting
oral histories, photos, etc. for Museum.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 a.m. .
