June 9, 1997
The June 9 , 1997 meeting of Euless Historical Preservation
Committee was called to order by Vice Chairman Billy Byers at
10:10 a.m. in the Conference Room #1 , Building A, 201 North Ector
Drive.
Members Present
Billy Byers, Weldon Cannon, Diana Crawford, Willie Mae
McCormick, Iva Nail, Robert Nail and Helen Payton
Staff Present
Julia Wakeley, Leisure Services Manager and Ray McDonald,
Projects Supervisor
Approval of Minutes
Minutes of the May 12 , 1997 meeting were approved as
presented.
I. Old Business
A. Fuller House Update
1 . Bill Byers is meeting with the electrician this
afternoon.
2 . Ray McDonald will get application to TU Electric for a
meter. The temporary pole will be removed when the
meter is in place.
3 . Mr. Ball has the air conditioner ready to use when the
meter is installed.
4. Johnnie Green should be ready to start on the yard
soon.
5. Diana Crawford is preparing a flyer update on the
Fuller House. The flyer will be soliciting donations
and items for display in the museum. The flyer is to
be mailed with the water bill.
6 . Diana Crawford is preparing a letter to send to Best
Buy and Comp USA to see if they would be interested in
donating a computer that we could put David Allen's
software on for a historical history.
7. Diana is trying to set a date with Dee Barker from
Tarrant County Historical Commission to get ideas for
display cases, cost, companies, etc. for museum.

B. Deacon House
Chairman Fuller has contacted Bill Deacon regarding moving
Deacon House. Mr. Deacon is checking with the Deacon Family
to see if they are in agreement on moving the house.
II. New Business
A. Dedication Date for Fuller House
Chairman Fuller has a request from the City Council for an
approximate date for dedication of the Fuller House.
Historical Committee is planning for a dedication date in
the fall , hopefully in October.
B. Master Plan for Ruth Millican Park
City Council is in the process of making a master plan of
Ruth Millican Park with possibility of moving the Deacon
House to this location.
