Archi-Texas. Mr. Melde thinks the Himes property has
historical significance and can be an educational project.
Mr. Melde thinks the project should be eligible to the
National Register of Historical Places. He recommends that
the Texas Historical Commission be notified of this property
and request a review of the property and a discussion about
rehabilitation.
The Committee discussed possible ways to use this
property which consists of approximately two acres with a
log house and a house built in 1945. This property joins
Euless Junior High. There would be room for other items of
historical significance - windmill, barn, etc. (similar to
Old City park in Dallas. ) The Committee discussed time
frame involved with getting a Texas Historical Placque, a
National Historical Placque and information needed for
submitting documents.
C. Request by new members for night meetings
Committee discussed possibility of night meetings so
that members working days could attend. Since some members
do not drive at night, it was suggested that the city van
could be used to pick up these members. Chairman Fuller
will check further for other possibilities.
D. Computer for Museum
Diana Crawford has talked with Comp USA and Best Buy
and they have donations committees that will be meeting
after January 1. They have requested that letters be re-
submitted to them. Julia Wakeley will re-submit the
letters.
E. Letters to Donors of Fuller House
Helen Payton will send thank-you notes to Mrs.
McCormick for $200.00 donation and to Mr. & Mrs. Paul
Matthews for donation of sofa to the Fuller House.
Julia Wakeley will send a letter to Mr. & Mrs. Matthews
from the City to show value of sofa at $2200 for tax
purposes. She will also send a letter to Troy Fuller for
player piano valued at $3500 and breakfront valued at $1000.
