Minutes
January 12, 1998
The January 12 , 1998 meeting of the Euless Historical
Preservation Committee was called to order by Chairman Troy
Fuller at 10: 10 a.m. in Conference Room #1, Building A, 201 North
Ector Drive.
Members Present
Willie May McCormick, Vada Johnson, Billy Byers, Helen
Lightbody, Betty Fuller, Don Tharp, Weldon Cannon, Evelyn Himes,
Iva Nail , Robert Nail , Jean Whitener, Helen Payton and Troy
Fuller
Staff Present
Parks and Leisure Services Manager Julia Wakeley and
Projects Supervisor Ray McDonald
Visitor Present
Mayor Mary Lib Saleh
Approval of Minutes
Minutes of the December 8 , 1997 meeting were approved as
presented.
I. Old Business
A. Fuller House Update
1 . Foundation has shifted, the painter is in process of
re-taping cracks.
2 . The dirt work is complete with the exception of the
hand work.
3 . The texturing is now being done, when the texturing is
completed, the painter is ready to paint.
4 . The floor man is ready to sand the floors when painting
is completed.
5. Robert Nail , Bill Byers and Troy Fuller are meeting
this week to look for two seven foot, six panel
colonial doors for the front of the Fuller House.
6. Bill Byers has stripped the mantle, Robert Nail has
made repairs, the mantle is now ready to be installed.
7. Troy Fuller will get bids for installing the sprinkler
system.
8 . Robert and Iva Nail will select the tile for the
kitchen cabinets.
9. Jan Hake has taken a roll of film inside the house to
show progress being made.
10. Bill Byers has a sign from the Bonanza Steak House to

go in the museum.
11 . The committee is asking Diana Crawford to be in charge
of the museum and to handle the dedication ceremonies
for the Fuller House.
12 . Iva Nail announced that she had received a $200 . 00
donation for the Fuller House from Mrs. McCormick.
B. Consideration of Night Meetings
1. Chairman Fuller is checking schedules with new members.
John Paschall is trying to arrange his schedule so that
he may attend day meetings.
2 . Meetings will be left as scheduled at present time.
C. Arbor Daze
Committee agreed not to participate in Arbor Daze this
year.
D. Himes House
The Himes House project is on hold until the Fuller
House is completed. Chairman Fuller will keep in touch with
the owners.
III. New Business
A. Texas Oral History Association
The Committee agreed not to join the Texas Oral History
Association. Meetings are held in various out-of-town
places and it is not feasible to join if we cannot attend.
B. Betty Fuller is working on a book of the Fuller Family.
D. Weldon Cannon and wife, Patty, are planning a
presentation of the local history of Euless, Richland Hills
and Bedford.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 11: 10 a.m. .
