Euless Historical Preservation Committee
Minutes
December 14 , 1998
The December 14, 1998 meeting of the Euless Historical
Preservation Committee was called to order by Vice-Chairman Billy
Byers at 10 : 00 a.m. at the Fuller House, 203 Cullum Drive.
Members Present
Nell Hicks, Iva Nail, Helen Lightbody, Evelyn Himes, Don Tharp,
Weldon Cannon, Betty Fuller, Willie Mae McCormick, Jean Whitener,
Robert Nail, Helen Payton and Billy Byers
Staff Present
Parks & Leisure Services Manager Julia Wakeley
Approval of Minutes
Betty Fuller made the motion, Helen Lightbody seconded to
approve the minutes of November 9, 1998 meeting. Motion passed.
I . Old Business
A. Himes House
Members of the Historical Committee discussed possibilities
for the Himes House.
1 . Bill Byers will check with Ware House Movers (this
company moved the Fuller House to its present location)
to see if the house can be moved and price to move the
house to Ruth Millican Park
2 . If the house is moved from the present location it will
not be eligible for a Historical Marker.
3 . Weldon Cannon will get information on Himes House and
document details . Weldon and Bill Byers will then meet
with Joe Hennig (with the City) regarding the purchase
of the Himes House and property at its present
location.
4 . It was suggested that the house could be used for
demonstrations of soap making, candle making, churning
butter, etc. similar to Log Cabin Village in Ft Worth.
B. Fuller House
1 . Venetian blinds have been installed on remaining
windows at a cost of $708 . 00 .
2 . File cabinet was purchased and delivered at a cost of
$150 . 00 .
3 . Mrs . McCormick has donated $250 . 00 for computer.
4 . Capacity for meetings in Fuller House is 20 (possibly 6
more) according to Fire Marshall . This information
needs to be posted in the House.

5. Open House information will be in the water bill .
6. Julia will have a sign made to put on fence with open
house information.
7 . Weldon Cannon will call newspapers to get a news
release.
8 . Betty Fuller made a motion, Willie Mae McCormick
seconded to purchase coffee pot and white microwave in
$100 . 00 range for Fuller House. Motion passed. Betty
Fuller will purchase the microwave.
II . New Business
There was no new business .
Adjournment
Betty Fuller made the motion to adjourn, Evelyn Himes seconded.
Meeting adjourned at 11 : 15 a.m.
(A pot luck luncheon was served after the meeting. )
