Minutes
April 12, 1999
The April 12, 1999 meeting of the Euless Historical Preservation
Committee was called to order by Chairman Billy Byers at 10 :20
a.m. at the Fuller House, 203 Cullum Drive.
Members Present
Vada Johnson, Nell Hicks, Helen Lightbody, Willie Mae McCormick,
Iva Nail, Robert Nail, Troy Fuller, Diana Crawford, Weldon
Cannon, Jean Whitener, Helen Payton and Bill Byers
Staff Present
Julia Wakeley, Parks & Leisure Services Manager
Guests Present
Leon Hogg, Euless City Councilman
Approval of Minutes
Motion was made by Jean Whitener and seconded by Troy Fuller to
approve the minutes of the March 8, 1999 meeting. Motion passed.
I. Old Business
A. Fuller House
1 . Julia Wakeley reported that City Liability Insurance
will cover everything in the Fuller House .
2 . Diana Crawford will prepare a form for donors with
description of items and inventory of all items donated
or loaned.
3 . Weldon Cannon will work with the city to make a tri-
fold brochure for the Fuller House to be given to
visitors . Brochure will have a brief history of the
Fuller House, rental information and hours of
operation.
4 . Julia Wakeley brought a design for the sign for the
front of the Fuller House. Sign to be made by the
Parks Dept. after Arbor Daze. A sign with the same
design will be made to display on an easel at the
library.
5. Weldon Cannon suggested having a sign at the Highway
with dates and hours of opening. Sign should be
approximately 3'X4' .
6. Dub Elliott has loaned an antique kerosene can that was
used at Cromer' s 10 Oaks farm.

7 . Robert and Iva Nail have volunteered to be docents for
May and June.
B. Computer
Bill Byers and Diana Crawford will look at computers at
Western America Bank to see if one can be used at the Fuller
House. If not, Diana will work with Rick Maldonado and get
bids for a new one.
C. Fuller House
Troy Fuller and Bill Byers served as docents for April .
Troy Fuller reported about 25 to 30 people visited and
several items were donated or loaned as a result of the Open
House (two churns, a wagon wrench and cow hobbles . )
II. New Business
Himes House
It was suggested that a letter be written to the Park Board
with a copy to Joe Hennig about the Himes House. Weldon
Cannon has information on Himes House, deed records and
interviews with Emmett Himes . Weldon and Bill Byers will
prepare the letter.

Meeting adjourned at 11 : 35 a.m.
