Euless Historical Preservation Committee
Minutes
October 11, 1999
The October 11, 1999 meeting of the Euless Historical
Preservation Committee was called to order by Chairman Billy
Byers at 10: 10 a.m. at the Fuller House, 203 Cullum Drive.
Members Present
Billy Byers, Weldon Cannon, Betty Fuller, Nell Hicks, Evelyn
Himes, Helen Lightbody, Willie Mae McCormick, Iva Nail, Robert
Nail, Helen Payton, Don Tharp and Jean Whitener
Staff Present
Julia Wakeley, Parks and Leisure Services Manager and Jenny
Kratz, Communications/Marketing Manager
Approval of Minutes
Willie Mae McCormick made a motion to approve the minutes of the
September 13, 1999 meeting, Evelyn Himes seconded the motion and
the motion carried.
I . Old Business
A. Fuller House
1 . Jenny Kratz presented the Fuller House brochure with
updated information. The Committee reviewed the
brochure, made changes and asked Betty Fuller to review
the brochure after the changes are made. After Betty
reviews the brochure, the Committee asked that the
brochures be printed as soon as possible.
2 . Weldon Cannon has volunteered to make a speech
advertising the Fuller House at the Mid-Cities
Genealogy Society meeting held at the Euless Library.
3 . Julia Wakeley reported the Fuller House will be
exterminated on a regular basis and she is still
seeking a reputable person to clean the Fuller House.
The Committee suggested having the house cleaned once a
month before the regularly scheduled open house.
4 . The Fuller House Wish List needs updating. Items
suggested for wish list were: antique clothing, rotary
phone, pressure cooker, cross cut saw and bathroom
articles (shaving cup, straight razor, strap, etc...)
5. The Committee discussed the need for a table or shelves
to display museum items in the middle of the room.
Robert Nail and Bill Byers volunteered to work on this

6. Troy and Ginger Fuller were docents in October.
Seventeen guests visited the Fuller House.
7 . Robert and Iva Nail will be docents in November.
II. New Business
A. Resignation
Chairman Byers received a letter of resignation from board
member Melissa Shane. The Shanes are moving to Australia.
B. Parade
The Committee briefly discussed having an entry in the
Parade of Lights on December 11 . Julia Wakeley will bring
an application to the next meeting.
Adjournment
Weldon Cannon made a motion to adjourn at 11 : 40 a.m. seconded by
Iva Nail . Meeting adjourned.
