Minutes
December 13, 1999
The December 13, 1999 meeting of the Euless Historical
Preservation Committee was called to order by Chairman Bill Byers
at 10: 25 a.m. at the Fuller House, 203 Cullum Drive.
Members Present
Bill Byers, Weldon Cannon, Diana Crawford, Betty Fuller, Troy
Fuller, Evelyn Himes, Vada Johnson, Helen Lightbody, Willie Mae
McCormick, Iva Nail, Robert Nail, Helen Payton and Don Tharp
Staff Present
Anicia Brown, Leisure Services Office Technician
Approval of Minutes
Troy Fuller made a motion to approve the minutes of the November
8, 1999 meeting, Betty Fuller seconded, motion carried.
I . Old Business
A. Himes House
Troy Fuller has located two men, one in Ponder, Texas and
one in Hico, Texas, that do log house restoration.
a. In Ponder, the man chinks between the logs with rock
and mud from the area. He makes the windows and puts
the house on a rock foundation. Mud does wash away and
the house has to be re-chinked periodically.
Restoration would run between $30, 000 and $40, 000 .
b. The man from Hico chinks between the logs with cement,
would put the house on a cement foundation with hewn
floors and he has the windrows made . To move the house
to a new location would be $42, 500 plus permits and
take approximately four months to restore.
Mr. Fuller will meet with Mayor Saleh and City Manager Joe
Hennig on December 21 . Mr. Fuller will present information
regarding restoration, etc. and recommend that the Himes
property be appraised, purchased and left at present
location or moved to Heritage Park. Mr. Fuller suggested
that the Committee visit the restored houses in Hico and
Ponder. Mr. Fuller will report to the Committee at the
January meeting.
B. Fuller House
1 . Members of the Committee received a copy of a

Resolution from the State of Texas concerning the
Fuller House. A copy will be framed and hung in the
Fuller House.
2 . The Committee approved photo change of the Fuller House
for the brochure.
3 . Troy Fuller made a motion to approve the Fuller House
information sheet prepared by Weldon Cannon, Betty
Fuller seconded, motion carried.
4 . Weldon Cannon and Helen Payton will be docents at the
Fuller House January 8, 2000.
II. New Business
A. Election of Officers
1 . Don Tharp made a motion to elect Bill Byers and Weldon
Cannon Co-Chairmen for the Euless Historical
Preservation Committee for 2000 . Betty Fuller
seconded, motion carried.
2 . Troy Fuller made a motion to elect Helen Lightbody
secretary for the Euless Historical Preservation
Committee for 2000, Don Tharp seconded, motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 11 : 55 a.m.
